Disney’s Star Tours To Launch Last Tour To Endor

Posted: 06 May 2010 07:27 PM PDT

Last September, Disney announced that the Star Tours attraction at their Disney World and Disneyland theme parks would close for refurbishments, which would include integrating Disney Real-D 3D, high definition, and improved simulations and special effects, with a reopening set for 2011.

But before the popular Stars Wars-themed attraction shuts down later this year, Disney World in Orlando, FL, will host the Last Tour to Endor, a decommissioning party on August 14, 2010 from 8:00pm – 1:00am at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The Last Tour to Endor is a ticketed event at the park, which costs $75 per person, and will include specially themed intergalactic party zones, Star Wars shows, and a Death Star Disco, with the evening ending with Symphony in the Stars – a Star Wars fireworks spectacular. Last Tour ticket-holders will be able to gain early entrance to Disney's Hollywood Studios at 4:00pm that day, four hours before the event begins.

Exclusive Spy Report: JJ Abrams’ ‘Super 8’ Teaser Trailer Description

Posted: 06 May 2010 02:45 PM PDT

Earlier this week, word got out that a teaser trailer for a new J.J. Abrams film called Super 8 would be playing in theaters in front of showings of Iron Man 2, starting with tonight's midnight screenings.

Of course, initial reports were that Super 8 was somehow connected to another Abrams property, 2008's Cloverfield, as either a sequel or more likely, a prequel [read Is There A 'Cloverfield 2' Teaser Trailer Attached To 'Iron Man 2'?]. Abrams has since insisted that the film has nothing to do with Cloverfield, but being the man of mystery he is, would not offer up what it is about.

We have a super spy report on the soon-to-be released Super 8 teaser trailer that was given exclusively to Geeks of Doom by a very reliable source. You can read all about the footage here below, but here's some non-spoilery facts that came direct from the teaser [...]

Thor has really been at the forefront of the Marvel universe lately, which has definitely let it shine. This is great for me because I am a huge fanboy of good Thor stories. He is my favorite character in all of comics and lately his book has been my favorite monthly comic book. I continually put it to the top of my stack and I am extremely happy with what Kieron Gillen has been able to do with this exciting opportunity to bring Thor's universe to the forefront.

With Siege raging on, and centering around Asgard, more people are paying attention to Thor than ever before. The last thing I would have thought to do with that opportunity is focus on a character as surprisingly interesting as Volstagg, but that is exactly what Gillen and the rest of the Siege writers have decided to do. I am extremely pleased with the result of this chain of events that very closely mirrors the events of Stamford (from Marvel's Civil War event) [...]

‘Super Troopers’ Group Broken Lizard To Bring New Series To Comedy Central?

Posted: 06 May 2010 09:13 AM PDT

Deadline Hollywood has the full slate of new shows and concepts that are being tested and developed for Comedy Central. There's certainly a healthy amount of prospective new shows looking to wow the executives, and though only a few will ultimately find themselves getting a greenlight, only one really stands out at this moment.

That show is currently untitled, and it's from a little comedy troupe known as Broken Lizard. The gang made swarms of fans with the release of 2001's Super Troopers, which still to this day remains as quotable and hilarious as ever. After that, they went on to create films such as Club Dread, Beerfest, and the recently-released Slammin' Salmon.

Click on over to the other side to check out the entire list of hopeful shows that Comedy Central will be looking at, including one with the hilarious Jon Benjamin and even Waiting the TV series?

Not much is known about the show yet, but it's described as being about "four minor-league umpires" and it will be written by members Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Erik Stolhankse, Paul Soter. No mention of Jay Chandrasekhar yet. [...]
