Geek Peek: First Set Photos From Marcus Nispel’s ‘Conan’

The first batch of images from the set of the remake/reboot of Conan the Barbarian have shown up online at the film's official Facebook page.

Conan tells the story of a man whose family and fellow people are all slaughtered at the hands of an evil man named Khalar Singh. After this Conan sets off to find Singh and anyone else who was involved, and get vengeance for what they did to him.

The movie is directed by Marcus Nispel, who previously directed the Friday the 13th reboot and Pathfinder. It stars Jason Momoa as Conan, Ron Perlman as his father Corin, Stephen Lang as Singh, Rachel Nichols, and Rose McGowan.

As with most first peeks at a movie, these aren't going to make your day. Still, you'll get a look at the people of the village, as well as the the village itself. It looks like they at least did a good job creating those elements! [...]

The Last Days of American Crime is another Rick Remender creator-owned book that is riddled with his originality and twists. Best described as a Science Fiction and Crime book, the basic premise is, what if the government announced that in a few days it would be sending a transmission that made it impossible to commit a crime through a type of mind control. As if that was not enough we are thrust into a world that no longer has a use for paper money.

This story shows that two genres that generally do not mix are compatible and interesting when meshed together with great skill and great art. Plus, how could you not feel like you're getting your money's worth when you are only paying two dollars more and you're getting three times the content as a normal comic?
