Paula Abdul: judge & mentor in "Got to Dance"

Paula Abdul's vacation is now over and she's taking again another judging duties in the new CBS primetime talent competition "Got to Dance," a series based on a UK hit.

According to THR, Abdul will "serve as the lead judge, executive producer, creative partner, mentor and coach."

The said competition is billed as broadcast's first all-ages all-genres dance series "from ballroom to break dance, bhangra to ballet, and tap to tango."

The intriguing part is, the new show might compete directly against her former show "American Idol".


Brittany Murphy's Husband Simon Monjack died; He was 39

Simon Monjack, the husband of the late Brittany Murphy was found dead Sunday night at his Rising Glen Road home in Hollywood Hills, Calif. (May 23, 2010)
LA Times reports, "At 9:24 p.m. Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call for an "unspecified medical aid request," according to spokesman Brian Humphrey. Fire Department personnel provided medical services to Monjack, and he was pronounced dead, according to a Los Angeles police sergeant, who declined to give his name, at the Hollywood Station late Sunday night. The sergeant said detectives were arriving at the home."
Monjack, who is still adjusting to Brittany's untimely death last December 20 was devastated and he felt in an instant he felt the world collapsed.

The cause of death is still unknown and under investigation.

"Shrek Forever After" tops box office but....

"Shrek Forever After" scored to the top of the box office with $71.3 million in its opening weekend but it also recorded the the weakest debut of all "Shrek" sequels.

Previous "Shrek" films, "Shrek the Third" opened with $121.6 million in 2007 and Shrek's second installment earned $108 million (2004).

Bret Michaels Wins "Celebrity Apprentice"

After the thrilling clashed of strategies and egos with these great mix of celebrities, the face off finale is between rocker Bret Michaels and actress Holly Robinson Peete on Sunday's Celebrity Apprentice Third season.

Facing a health scare, Bret Michaels showed his toughness in the live finale even though he is still recovering from a life-threatening brain hemorrhage and recently suffering a "warning stroke".

At the end, Donald Trump declared Michaels as the winner, receiving $250,000 for his charity of choice, the American Diabetes Association.

Holly Robinson Peete also received $250K for her charity HollyRod Foundation, autism awareness.

All Star pitcher Jose Lima dies of heart attack

Former MLB All-Star Jose Lima was found dead after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Pasadena. He was 37.

Initially ruled as a heart attack, Lima's wife Dorca Astacio told ESPNdeportes,
"Jose was complaining while sleeping and I just thought he was having a nightmare. I called the paramedics, but they couldn't help him."

Lima was selected to the All-Star Game with Houston in 1999 and it is also the year he won 21 games in that season. Lima spent 13 seasons with five different teams: Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets.

David Krumholtz & Vanessa Britting Married!!

Numb3rs' mathematics genius David Krumholtz and actress Vanessa Britting officially tied-the-knot on Saturday at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. (May 22, 2010)

According to People, the couple say "I do" in "a non-denominational ceremony in the historic hotel's terrace room in front of 180 guests."

In attendance are Krumholtz's Numb3rs costars Rob Morrow, Judd Hirsch and Peter MacNicol. Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel are the groomsmen.

The couple has been engaged since 2008, when Krumholtz proposed in Paris.
