Harrison Ford & Diane Keaton Drive Rachel McAdams Crazy In ‘Morning Glory’ Trailer Posted: 02 Jun 2010 11:37 PM PDT The first trailer for Morning Glory, the new romantic comedy from Notting Hill and Changing Lanes director Roger Michell, has been released online. The movie, which is also (quite strangely) produced by J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions, is a new comedy/romance starring Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, and Diane Keaton in the leads. It's written by Aline Brosh McKenna, who previously penned Laws of Attraction, The Devil Wears Prada, 27 Dresses, and was also just hired to write a script for the live-action Cinderella remake. Be sure to click on over to the other side to check out the trailer. The movie follows Beck Fuller (McAdams), a television news producer who brings in two stubborn older news anchors in Mike Pomeroy (Ford) and Colleen Peck (Keaton). The two anchors don't get along at all, which leads to chaos on and off the air, and a 24/7 babysitting job for Becky to keep things under control and working, all while trying to maintain her own life and relationship with Adam (Patrick Wilson). It's basically a much more serious, much more realistic and down-to-earth version of Anchorman. [...] |
First Images From Frank Darabont’s ‘The Walking Dead’ Arrive Online Posted: 02 Jun 2010 08:42 PM PDT Last August it was announced that a new television series was being adapted from Robert Kirkman's popular graphic novel The Walking Dead, and now the first eight images from the show, which began production today, are already online. The story follows a cop and his family as they team up with some other survivors of a devastating zombie infestation, and while it is sure to have all the scares that come with zombies, the show is said to focus on the stories of these people and their survival instead of the BOO! factor, which is why it's being set up as a series. The big concern in all of this was whether this graphic horror content could fly on a network like AMC, which is where the six-episode freshman run will air. And while that is still really yet to be seen, the fact that top hit shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad live there and these new images you're about to see are certain to give you some hope. Limp as quickly as your undead re-animated corpse will allow you to over to the other side to check out the new images from The Walking Dead! [...] |
‘Thundercats’ Coming To Cartoon Network In New Animated Series Posted: 02 Jun 2010 05:32 PM PDT In a press release put out today, Warner Brothers Animation officially announced that they have entered into production on a brand new animated series based on the popular '80s show, Thundercats, which will air on Cartoon Network. Warner Animation is collaborating on the project with Japan's Studio4°C, who have brought us other titles such as Gotham Knights, The Animatrix, and Halo Legends. Instead of the normal cartoon look for Thundercats, this new series will actually infuse traditional Japanese anime animations into the production, giving it an amazing visual styles to go along with the wonderful new stories. Dig out those sweet plastic swords you had when you were a wee li'l tyke, and sound off with your best "HOOOOO!" as you click over for more and to read the full press release. Don't B.S. us. Is The ‘Minority Report’ Computer Technology Five Years Away? Posted: 02 Jun 2010 08:53 AM PDT Steven Spielberg's science fiction thriller Minority Report hasn't been praised by all who have seen in, but one thing that has always stuck out about the movie was its sweet high-tech computer systems which allowed you to click and drag and navigate using your hands. Since then we've seen the birth and evolution of touch-screen technologies, leading to the natural question: "When would we have our very own Minority Report computers?!" Apparently it's not as far off as you might think. At the TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) convention 2010 this past February, John Underkoffler made a presentation of what he and his team call "g-speak," which evolves computerized systems to recognize space like they've never been able to before. Underkoffler was personally brought in as an advisor on Spielberg's film, which allowed them to present that insane futuristic interface for the movie, which was set in the year 2054. Head on over to the other side for more and to see the video. [...] |
