‘Clash Of The Titans 2′ Grabs Jonathan Liebesman To Direct

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 04:55 AM PDT

A sequel to Louis Leterrier's epic blockbuster remake, Clash of the Titans, was announced almost immediately after the first movie was released on April 2, 2010. Clash went on to make over $491 million in worldwide box office, bringing back well over its $125 million price tag and, despite what you thought of the movie itself, leaving the decision whether to actually go through with Clash of the Titans 2 or not was pretty crystal clear.

As for who would direct the sequel, it was unclear at first whether Leterrier would return or if he'd be replaced. Now we know that he's officially out and that South African director Jonathan Liebesman will be stepping in to take his place. No word on if Leterrier just decided to move on to other things or if it was the studios choice to try someone new.

Liebsman doesn't have many credits on his resume yet, but his new movie Battle: Los Angeles was one of the many that made a splash at the recent San Diego Comic Con. In addition to that, he helmed horror titles Darkness Falls and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. [...]

First Teaser Trailer For Gary King’s ‘How Do You Write A Joe Schermann Song’ Is Here

Back in April we wrote about a website called Kickstarter, which allows independent filmmakers and other artists to try and obtain the funding necessary to make their dream projects a reality (Read: Want To Help Get An Independent Movie Made? Now You Can! ).

The website works so well because instead of just asking people to donate their money, things like posters, soundtracks, and DVDs (sometimes signed), and special perks like thanks in the credits, invites to special events and set visits, or even producer credits (if you drop enough coin, of course) are offered in exchange for your help.

In that article, the project showcased was How to Write a Joe Schermann Song, the new musical from indie filmmaker Gary King. It came right down to the wire (there's a deadline in which you need to reach your monetary goal), but the goal was indeed reached, and the movie has been moving forward ever since. With this past weekend came word that the first teaser trailer for the movie would be released today, and it's here now for you all to see! [...]

Jesus Hates Zombies, Vol. 4

Jesus Hates Zombies
Yea, Though I Walk Volume 4

Jesus is back and he's ready for his final showdown with the angel Gabriel and his army of the undead. Yes, Jesus is ready to take on the undead hordes, and he's brought his pal Abraham Lincoln along with him. Okay, this all sounds crazy, but that's the best thing about Jesus Hates Zombies featuring Lincoln Hates Werewolves in Yea, Though I Walk Volume 4 (see, even the title is insane).

For a book called Jesus Hates Zombies, this is not nearly as blasphemous as you might think it would be. Writer Stephen Lindsay does not make fun of Jesus; he doesn't even really make fun of Christians (which would be an easy way for a weaker writer to go). He just wants to tell a goofy but fun zombie story. Sure, it may have a few more religious trappings than other zombie books, but Lindsay's goal is not really to examine religion. You can tell when a writer is being mean towards religion, and I never get that feeling from this book. This is an action movie, complete with explosions and epic fights [...]
