He followed that up with another iconic character John Rambo in 1982 with First Blood. And now he returns with The Expendables which boasts an all star cast which includes some of the big names in action movies like Bruce Willis, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, and Jet Li.

On a recent interview, he dissed on Academy Award winner Al Pacino and the 3D blockbuster directed by James Cameron, Avatar. Stallone starred in some family-friendly movies like Spy-Kids 3-D: Game Over and Antz, after the brightness of action stars were slowly fading. He said, "I tried Spy Kids. Doesn't work." He then dissed on Pacino saying, "Action is a lot harder than drama I'm waiting for Pacino to play Rambo."

He then talked about the decline of the muscled-up action stars of the 80s and 90s saying, "It's a cycle. The same thing happened in 1968 and 69. At the time, the studios were going down big time. They were financing musicals… but all of a sudden Easy Rider came along and in changed everything. I think that the bubble is just about to pop."

He then went after Avatar, the biggest movie of all time. He said, "After Avatar, everybody should just quit.  They should. They should say, 'that was brilliant. It's done. Let's go back to the little thing. You know, a guy on a horse, he gets punched in the face and has a fight in a barbershop. I think it's going to happen. I really do."

The movie will hit theaters on August 13, 2010. Or you can also watch The Expendables online.
