Harry Potter Star Talks About Last Shooting Day Posted: 19 Aug 2010 07:36 PM PDT Share with your friends How fast time flies. It was way back in October 2000 that the first Harry Potter movie began filming. And after about ten years, the cast and crew shot their last day on June 12, 2010 for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It was very emotional for most of the people behind the very successful movie franchise. Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe shared what it felt like on their last shooting day in an interview. He said, "I don't expect myself to get emotional, but I really did, as I'm sure you'll see on the DVD extras, because we were filmed weeping like children." It was really tough for him to shot the last scene and he was approached by producers David Heyman and David Barron to help him get through the day. He recalled, "They came up and said, 'How are you feeling? How are you doing?' And I couldn't find any words, and I just said, 'I just want you to know, I've had really a nice time.' And it was such a young quite innocent, sweet thing to say, that I kind caught myself off guard. That was the moment when I suddenly had a lump in my throat and was like, 'OK, I'm really going to have to struggle to keep it together on the last shot' which was a stunt, very simple, just jumping and rolling onto the mop." But he was able to get through the day and finished his scenes. He added, "They said, 'That's a wrap." It just felt weird." But he was not able to stay at the end of the day as he flew to New York to be a presenter on the Tony Awards. So, he wasn't really able to go out with the rest of the cast and crew to celebrate when they really finished shooting. The first part of the final chapter of the Harry Potter series will hit theaters on November 13, 2010. But you can also watch Harry Potter4 and the Deathly Hallows online. |
