After growing up in front of our eyes, we will soon goodbye to the much-loved wizard boy. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final episode in the franchise based on the books by J. K. Rowling. But you can hold on for one more year as the 759-page long novel has been divided into two films. Part I will hit theaters on November 19, 2010 and the second half is scheduled to be shown on July 15, 2011.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe recently talked to Empire Online and dished some details regarding the upcoming split of the novel. It was recently revealed by Warner Bros. on the Fall Preview issue of Entertainment Weekly that the first part will end on chapter 24 of the book. It means that the upcoming movie this fall will conclude where Lord Voldemort gains possession of one of the three Deathly Hallows, the Elder Wand.

He commented, "The first one is weird road movie kind of thing. Compared to the second part it's slower paced, but that's only relative. It's more of the relationship between the characters. You see those friendships tested for the first time." He then revealed some deets on what we will be seeing on Part II. He added, "The second one is this non-stop rollercoaster of battles and heists. It starts off as this heist movie and turns into this all out war."

Almost all of the original cast members will reprise their roles, including Radcliffe, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, Rupert Grint as Ron Weaseley, and Ralph Fiennes as Lord Voldemort. Warner Bros. has signed British filmmaker David Yates to direct both films, after helming two Harry Potter films: the Half-Blood Prince (2009) and the Order of the Phoenix (2007). Long-time Harry Potter collaborator Steve Kloves will write the screenplay.

Guantanamo Bay is a detainment facility of the United States located in Cuba where 176 prisoners are recently held captive. They are kept in isolation without any visitors allowed either from family and loved ones. They are also not entitled for parole and any prospect of going to court to clear their names. In short, they do not have much to look forward to in life as they will spend most, if not all of it, locked behind in their cold, lonely cells.

But a wizard boy seems to give them some light, or at least give them something to do just to pass time. According to a report by TIME, Harry Potter shows up once a week, in the being pushed in carts from the library to the prison cells. The award-winning and best-selling series of novels written by J. K. Rowling is said to be one of the most popular titles requested by detainees among the 18,000 books, magazines, newspapers, and DVDs in the prison library.

In an interview with Candace Gorman, a civil rights attorney who represents Abdul Al-Ghizzawi, a Libyan national detainee since June 2002, said during her visit in 2007 with her client that his favorite was the Harry Potter series.  But during that time, the prison library lacked one volume in the series with an Arabic version. She said, "The guards were telling him things that happened in the book, but he didn't know if it was true or not." She then donated a copy of the book in hopes that his client would be able to read it. She then revealed that Al-Ghizzawi compared his fate to the prisoners of Azkaban and likened George W. Bush to Lord Voldemort.

Other popular offerings include the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Twilight saga, the self-help book Don't Be Sad, the National Geographic magazines. They also have around 18 languages spanning from Arabic, to English, Farsi, Russian, and French. But finding the copies requested by detainees on their native language had been quite a challenge.

Well anyway, the seventh installment of the Harry Potter series will hit theaters on November 19, 2010. You cam also watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows online, if you can't escape Guantanamo Bay unlike the Prisoners of Azkaban.

Harry Potter London Studio To be Turned into Theme Park

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is found in at the Universal Orlando in Florida. Universal and Warner Bros. officially opened the Harry Potter theme park last June 18. The rides include the Dragon Challenge, Flight of the Hipogriff, and The Forbidden Journey.

And now, one of stars of Harry Potter Rupert Grint, who plays Harry's best friend and Hermione Granger's love interest Ron Weaseley, has confirmed that the Leavesden Studio in London will be turned into a tourist attraction.  He told his adoring fans in a meet-and-greet event last Monday that Warner Bros. where the Harry Potter movie franchise was shot will be turned into a theme park. He revealed, "We used to write on the walls and they're actually recreating and turning the studio in an attraction, actually recreating all the rooms so you can go on in them."

The tourists will get to experience Hogwarts, just like the cast and crew who worked on the studio for about a decade. The fans will be provided with the real costumes and sets used in the movie franchise. There will also be replicas of the characters wearing the costumes of Hermione, Lord Voldemort, Rubeus Hagrid, and the Weaseley family. They will also get to walk through Great Hall at Hogwarts, as well as Dumbledore's study.

It is the answer of UK to the theme park in Florida, although it is not as huge as 20-acre The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. But the Warner is planning to have the Leavesden Studio expanded. Last month, Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, spoke infuriately in public about being dismayed that Britain wasn't able to capitalize on one of its most successful exports. He said, "We must be utterly mad as a country to leave to leave it to the Americans to make money from a great British invention. I appeal to the children of this country and their Potter-fiend parents to write to Warner Bros. and Universal and perhaps, even to the great JK herself. Bring Harry home to Britain." The Harry Potter series was written by British author J. K. Rowling.

But fans will miss one item once they visit the set. They will not see the number '4' hanging in Harry's door he swiped it. He also revealed that he tried to steal one of the huge golden dragon eggs used in the Goblet of Fire because of a dare, but he got caught and returned them.

The who's who in British cinema in this present generation can be seen in the Harry Potter franchise. One of them is the award-winning actress Emma Thompson. She is one of the few stars who have won both an Academy Award in acting and writing. She received her first Oscar in 1993 for Best Actress from the movie Howard's End. She next won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for her work on the big screen adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility in 1996 and also had the rare feat of being nominated for Best Actress on the same year. She also had several awards including the BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and Emmys.  The English actress plays the eccentric Sybill Trelawney, professor of Divination.

But before appearing in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I later this year, she will be first seen in Nanny McPhee Returns, a sequel to 2005 family film Nanny McPhee. And in a recent interview with MTV News to promote the movie, she talked about how it was like working on the seventh installment of the Harry Potter series. She told reporters that her role on the final chapter was just short, and that she only had two days to shoot her scenes. She recalled, "They were very quick. I just had to do a bit of waving of a wand a bit of 'ooooo'-ing over dead people, because they had just to fit absolutely everyone in."

But despite her short stint, she still made a point to enjoy the most of it as this will be the last time she will work on the hugely-successful movie franchise with an ever-growing cast. She said, "It felt like a conveyor belt of characters, as this extraordinary machine came to its end. It was incredible to see everyone and just sort of quickly say hello and goodbye."

She then commented about having almost all working British actors have appeared in the series. The long list includes Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, Helena Bonham carter, Jim Broadbent, Tom Felton, Bill Nighy, Gary Oldman, Miranda Richardson, Imelda Staunton, Julie Walters, and Ralph Fiennes. She said, "Absolutely everyone in equity has been in it."

She then revealed her thoughts about having her own younger sister, Sophie, being included in the lengthy cast. She said, "Including all my family, practically. My sister just finished I don't know what the name of her character is; she's got a major role in this last one."  Sophie plays Mafalda Hopkirk. She works in the Improper Use of Magic Office in the Ministry and is responsible for sending out warnings when an underaged is detected to use magic.
