Will Apple’s iTV Have Support For Netflix?

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 05:53 PM PDT

Apple Netflix

Apple's next television product -- said to be dubbed iTV -- could feature support for popular video rental subscription service Netflix, Business Week reports.

If true, a Netfix-enabled iTV would surely be a huge hit given the device's speculated $99 price tag. The new TV product would also feature a multitude of potential apps that would presumably also work with iPhone and iPad operating system iOS.

This might also be the reason the current favorite set top streaming media box Roku just received a price drop across the board -- their low-end model now just $59 [...]

Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Black Swan’ & ‘The Wrestler’ Were Once The Same Movie

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 02:22 PM PDT

News has been rather slow lately, so here's an interesting little story to help you pass your time.

Recently, the first trailer for Requiem for A Dream and The Fountain director Darren Aronofsky's new movie, Black Swan, was released online and has been sparking a lot of attention...as most Aronofsky films tend to do. If you've yet to see the trailer, be sure to check it out now (Read: Watch Now: Darren Aronofsky's 'Black Swan' Is A Ballerina Movie You'll Want To See ). And now comes word that there's a little more to his ballet movie than meets the eye.

Apparently, the director had originally planned out an idea about a wrestler and ballet dancer involved in a love affair. This was about ten years ago, and as you might have guessed, the idea branched out into two films: first The Wrestler, and now Black Swan.

Even better, the movies do still share connections that we'll notice when watching, which should be pretty cool to see. Click over for a quote from Aronofsky himself. [...]

Remake Of Clive Barker’s ‘Hellraiser’ May Be Doomed; New Direct To DVD Sequel Coming

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 09:48 AM PDT

You might think that with the high-profile remakes of classic horror titles like Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, and many others we've seen produced, it wouldn't be at all difficult to get one made these days, but this is not the case.

One of the remakes that was set to head our way, was that of horror master Clive Barker's Hellraiser. And thought fans likely didn't want to see it, even Barker himself stated that he was OK with remakes so long as they were done faithfully. Even so, the remake has faced a bumpy road to production, and it now appears that it might not even happen at all. Apparently Dimension Films was in talks with Christian E. Christiansen to direct, but those talks have now ended. At one point Pascal Laugier was attached to direct, but clearly that relationship also ended.

The reason that Dimension is having so much trouble finding a director is because they're being really picky about who ultimately makes it. [...]
