Grint Afraid for Ron’s Fate in Harry Potter 7 Posted: 05 Sep 2010 08:11 PM PDT 2001, it was the first time that Harry Potter hit the big screen. The kids who played the lead characters Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weaseley have been pushed into the limelight. The actors basically have grown up in front of our eyes. And now they have to say goodbye to the characters that has made them feel loved by the whole world.
Rupert Grint, who plays Ron, recently talked to Empire Magazine about his role in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Ron is the sidekick of Harry and the love interest of Hermione. In the film, the trio will embark on dangerous journey to destroy Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes. But the Dark Lord has sent his Death Eaters to go after them. He revealed during the interview that he did not want to find out at first, when the book came out in 2007, if his character could make it alive until the last pages of the final novel. He said, "I think I was the last person to read it. I didn't know why I didn't because I'm a big fan of the books. I've read them all. But I was nervous because I'd been hearing so much about characters dying and not making it through to the end. And I wanted Ron to survive."
Grint was only eleven years old when he first appeared as the red-headed wizard and was a then-newcomer in the entertainment industry. And now, the English actor is 21 years old, and a lot of millions richer. He admitted that it was bittersweet that this is finally the end for the franchise. He said, "Part of me doesn't really want it to end because I've loved it and it's been a huge part of my life, that routine. But in the same way, it's been ten years of solid filmmaking, so it's nice to have a bit of freedom. Yeah, just be free."
The fantasy adventure film will hit theaters on November 19, 2010. But you can also watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows online. Share with your friends |
