Checkout the trailer for Julie Taymor's movie adaptation of Shakespeare's fantasy thriller, "The Tempest".
In her big-screen adaptation of Shakespeare's mystical thriller "The Tempest," Academy Award(R)-nominated Julie Taymor ("Across the Universe," "Frida," "Titus") brings an original dynamic to the story by changing the gender of the sorcerer Prospero into the sorceress Prospera, portrayed by Oscar(R) winner Helen Mirren ("The Queen"). Prospera's journey spirals through vengeance to forgiveness as she reigns over a magical island, cares for her young daughter, Miranda, and unleashes her powers against shipwrecked enemies in this exciting, masterly mix of romance, tragicomedy and the supernatural.
Starring Helen Mirren, Djimon Hounsou, David Strathairn, Russell Brand, Alfred Molina, Chris Cooper, Alan Cumming, Ben Whishaw, Reeve Carney, Felicity Jones and Tom Conti.

It will hit the theaters on December 10, 2010.

Margaret Cho voted off in Dancing With The Stars 11; Samba DWTS (Video)

Margaret Cho and her partner Louis van Amstel are the latest dancing couple voted off in season 11 of Dancing With The Stars elimination result show.


Margaret told the judges, "I thought the judges were really hard on me but I think you were really hard on me because you could see that I was a dancer... for real."

The comedienne described her dancing partner, "I had the best teacher and the best partner," and Louis replied with "I love you and our journey hasn't finished."

Margaret and Louis earned the lowest score of 18 on their Samba performance via the music of Barry Manilow's "Copacabana".

Philippines received two nominations in the upcoming 38th Annual International Emmy Awards. The event honors and promotes excellence in international television programming (outside the U.S.)

The performance of Sid Lucero in ABS-CBN series "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" gave him the edge to be nominated for the Best Actor category while the said series will compete in the Best Telenovela category.

Lucero will compete against Bob Hoskins (The Street, United Kingdom), Sebastian Koch (Sea Wolf, Germany), and Leonardo Sbaraglia (Epitafios, Argentina).

"Dahil May Isang Ikaw" will be competing with "Ciega a Citas (Argentina)" and "My Love (Portugal)."

Winners will be announced at a black-tie ceremony on November 22 at the Hilton Hotel, New York.

Last year, Philippines bagged three nominations. ABS-CBN's drama series "Kahit Isang Saglit" and GMA-7's "Magdusa Ka" are nominated for Best Telenovela while the lovely Angel Locsin received nomination for Best Actress for her performance in the fantasy series "Lobo".

Kanye West has announced that "MY BEAUTIFUL DARK TWISTED FANTASY" is the official title of his new album!

The 33-year-old musician tweeted, "The official album title is and always was....MY BEAUTIFUL DARK TWISTED FANTASY" and added, "Yes some of the Good Fridays will be on the album. The first song on the album is called 'Dark Fantasy' produced my The Rza co-produced by me and No I.D. I ain't letting no leaks have any affect on my song choices… 'All of the Lights' is the next single but wait till ya'll hear the final!!!!!"


The upcoming fifth studio album will be out November 22, 2010.

Superman will fly again and the remake supervision will be under Zack Snyder!
"300" director is very excite about the development and he tells EW, "All I can is that this is super-awesome, and I'm super-excited, by every aspect of this. He's Superman. He's the king of the superheroes."
Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception) will produce the film.

2006's Superman Returns starring Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth received different criticism and disappointment from loyal fans even though the movie earned $391 million worldwide.

Dwyane Wade's camp: ex-wife needs psychological test!

Dwyane Wade's child custody battle continues.....and now, his camp wants to put his ex-wife Siohvaughn Wade to go through a psychological test due to "homicidal" tendencies.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, "The attorney, Lester L. Barclay claims, "There is a question as to the mental condition and violent tendencies" of Siohvaughn Wade."

Barclay claims Siohvaughn's own testimony has revealed a history of extreme violence -- and he believes she has "homicidal" and "suicidal" tendencies.
If the test will show that Siohvaughn is not capable and fit to take care of her kids, it will be Dwyane's best offense to get the legal custody of their two kids

Meanwhile, Kim is joining her sister Kourtney in invading the Big Apple with another reality show called "Kourtney and Kim Take New York."

ABS-CBN seeks restraining order against Willie Revillame

Willie Revillame will be facing a maze before he can go and host his new show "Willing Willie" as  ABS-CBN filed a petition seeking to stop Willie Revillame in hosting his upcoming new show from the fast rising rival network TV5. 

The airing of TV5's "Willing Willie" will be on October 23.

The Kapamilya network asked the Quezon City Regional Trial Court to issue a temporary restraining order (TRO) and a writ of preliminary injunction to stop Revillame "from committing further violations to his contract with the network" by launching "Willing Willie."

The show will reportedly air this month over TV5.

In a 38-page petition, ABS-CBN appealed to the court to restrain Revillame from creating or performing work in companies that are direct competitors of ABS-CBN.

It also asked the court to stop the TV host "from engaging in activities which are adverse to the interests of ABS-CBN."

ABS-CBN cited his contract with TV5 and show "Willing Willie," which, it said, is very similar to the defunct "Wowowee" on ABS-CBN.

Revillame reportedly was hands-on in the creation and conceptualization of the variety and game show.

ABS-CBN also cited TV5's official statement issued on September 17 confirming that Revillame has signed a contract with the network to host a variety and game show.

ABS-CBN asserted that Revillame is bound to comply with his current obligations under the agreement he signed with the Kapamilya network.

While the court has not decided on the judicial rescission case filed by Revillame, the TV host decided to enter a new contract and agree to perform in new shows.

"Revillame's actions show that he has decided for himself that he can do as he pleases despite the honorable court's taking cognizance of the issues," ABS-CBN stated in the petition.

In a statement from ABS-CBN Corporate Communication Head Bong Osorio, when Revillame chose to ignore his contract with the Kapamilya network, it was left with no choice but to ask the courts to intervene.

"The issue on Willie Revillame is all about honoring a contract. To ABS-CBN, it is not only the ethical and right thing to do. It is a noble act of a person or a company that values honesty and integrity. These values are reflected in the way we do business in ABS-CBN. We honor what we say and we expect our people, talents and partners to reciprocate the trust and honor we give them," said Osorio.

"If a person or company gives honor and respect to a contract, conflicts can be avoided. Just like in a family, do you walkout simply because your attention was called?" he added.

Revillame violated the behavioral provisions of his contract when he threatened the ABS-CBN management during the May 4 episode of "Wowowee" with a resignation if management does not fire another artist of the network.

After weeks of hiatus, Revillame resurfaced and called for a press conference that he is rescinding his contract with ABS-CBN.

ABS-CBN has maintained that it is the aggrieved party, and as such, is the only one that can decide to end the agreement.
ABS-CBN previously filed  P486-million damage suit against Willie Revillame for breaching his contract with the Kapamilya network. ABS-CBN claims that his contract will expire in September 2011
