Deal: ‘Seinfeld – The Complete Series’ DVD Box Set Posted: 16 Dec 2010 05:08 AM PST Today's Gold Box spotlight deal of the day over at Amazon is Seinfeld - The Complete Series DVD box set for only $84.49 (that's 66% off the list price of $250.95). Note, this deal is only for today, Thursday December 16, 2010, until midnight PST while supplies last, so grab this well you can. Check out the DVD bonus features below, along with a shot of the interior packaging. The long-running show infamously known to be about "nothing" starred comedian Jerry Seinfeld as himself, along with Jason Alexander as his conniving best friend George, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as his ex-girlfriend turned gal pal Elaine, Michael Richards as his eccentric next door neighbor Kramer, and Wayne Knight as his neighbor/nemesis Newman. Jerry and his pals live in New York City and somehow manage to turn the mundane into a laugh riot, making the show -- created by Curb Your Enthusiasm's Larry David -- one of the funniest in sitcom history. This 32-disc two-volume DVD set contains all 180 episodes of the nine-season series along with The Official Coffee Table Book, a 226-page, bound anthology filled with photos, quotes, trivia from every episode. This collectible book comes with a bonus disc featuring "The Roundtable," an hour-long feature that's a reunion of the entire cast along with Larry David on the ninth anniversary of the series finale [...] |

Mondo & Sideshow Collectibles Join Forces For ‘Tron’ Inspired Posters Posted: 15 Dec 2010 09:42 PM PST Popular specialty poster-makers, Mondo, the art boutique branch of the famed Alamo Drafthouse cinema, has officially announced a brand new partnership with Sideshow Collectibles to deliver even more of their highly sought after posters. The first in the series of new posters is inspired from Walt Disney's Tron universe, with one print devoted to the original film and a second devoted to the brand new sequel, Tron: Legacy, which hits theaters this Friday. These specialty Tron posters are crafted by artist Eric Tan, and capture both movies in perfect pop cult art harmony. Better yet, both of them glow in the dark! You can see both of these new Tron posters by clicking on over to the other side now. Here's what the artist had to say about the two posters, and his inspiration for their creation: When creating posters for each of the Tron films, what immediately came to mind were the parallels between the two worlds and how it had progressed over the years. Since similar elements such as disks, light cycles, and recognizers exist in both, I thought showing the contrast between new and old was a visually interesting angle to play up. [...] |

Convention Report: Wizard World Atlanta 2010 Posted: 15 Dec 2010 02:55 PM PST Earlier this month was the Wizard Comic-Con Atlanta, which took place on December 3 and 4 at the Cobb Galleria Convention Center. This convention was formerly known as the Atlanta Comic Expo which Wizard purchased and added to the Wizard convention scene. This was Wizards' second attempt to run a Con in Atlanta, and overall it seemed to be well received by the local attendees under the new name. The Wizard Comic-Con Atlanta had a variety of guests spanning all genres from television to wrestling, including Adam West, Burt Ward, Henry Winkler, Billy Dee Williams, Vivica Fox, Mimi Rogers, Pam Grier, Richard Roundtree, Linda Blair, and Ernie Hudson. With this event being in Atlanta, there was the unique option to have a panel for The Walking Dead, which is film in the city. The panel featured Chandler Riggs who plays Carl, as well as about 15 of the actors who portrayed the Walkers (zombies). The actors answered fan questions as well as shared some stories about their time on the set. The Wizard staff member who introduced the panel did announce that this was the most well attended panel of the convention [...] |

Amazing Video Showcases 270 Films Of 2010 Posted: 15 Dec 2010 07:56 AM PST This video has been going around this week, and if you've yet to see it you simply must do so right this very moment. The filmography comes from a video editor named Gen I, who masterfully fuses together 270 various films from the year 2010 into a 6-minute celebration of the art. The clips from these many movies come at you in quickfire fashion, but they all feel like they belong together. Accompanied by well-chosen songs, the video plays brilliantly and might just be better than many of the movies that it features. And speaking of the bad movies -- though you may have zero interest in seeing them, the clips used here still find a way to feel oh-so-right. These are the things that remind us why we love movies so very much; if it doesn't serve you this reminder, you may very well not have a soul. This video will inspire you to do great things, and leave you with a grand smile on your face to boot. Click on over to the other side right away to see the video immediately, and plan to watch it multiple times. [...] |
