Rock band Bamboo breaks up, Official statement released!

After 8 years of delivering great alternative rock music, the Pinoy band "Bamboo" headed by Francisco "Bamboo" Mañalac officially announced the breakup of the band!

Bamboo issued a statement posted in their official website:
"Hello everybody, We started the band 2002-2003, playing for small venues or to whoever just wanted to sit down and listen to 4 old dogs who refused to grow up and continued to do what we know we were born to do (it took me awhile. I confess). No one believed in us at the start. Always with a chip on our shoulder we were able and willingly ready to prove doubters wrong.
"Here we are 7 or 8 (to the few) years later. (A lifetime in this business.) Things change.
"As a group we've come to a point where you have to trust your gut, your hear and your head and accept that all things change. The hardest part as always is to know when to pack it up and part ways. We've learned that this journey is not only about is but includes all who came along for the trip. Family, friends and of course our front row believers who were there for the best reason of all. To simply listen. So it didn't come easy winding down to this decision.
So here we go--IT'S OFFICIAL--THE BAND--IT'S OVER.
"A chapter closes and a new one begins. So what happens next? I don't know. 2011 and I readily look forward to tomorrow's "I don't knows" and hiccups. So "here we go" a new page.
"This is not the end. We move forward for all the right reasons. This is not a sad day. Music will forever be a part of our lives and I couldn't imagine us just simply walking away. Not possible. All I see are possibilities.
So to end in behalf of the band and Management I would like to thank everybody. Our friends, fans, supporters and Believers. Thank You. To the few brave producers out there. Thank you. Our business partners throughout the years. Thank you. To EMI and Polyeast. Thank you. This is not goodbye."
Band members include Ira Cruz (guitars), Nathan Azarcon (bass) and Vic Mercado (drums). They released for successful albums: As The Music Plays in 2004, Light Peace Love (2005), We Stand Alone Together (2007), and Tomorrow Becomes Yesterday (2008).

The band won numerous awards at the AWIT Awards, NU 107 Rock Awards, Aliw Awards and MTV Pilipinas.

"Black Swan" actress Natalie Portman, who is now new face of Parfums Christian Dior new line, goes topless in this new ad for Miss Dior Cherie perfume! [Full Ad below]

Keeping it interestingly sexy is her black bow in her hair as her arms wrapped around her chest as she looks toward the camera.

Meanwhile, Portman recently confirmed that she's expecting a child and she's engaged to choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

Brett Favre's Sister Arrested in Meth Lab Raid

Minnesota Vikings star Brett Favre's younger sister, Brandi Favre, was arrested during a drug raid in Missippi on Wednesday (January 13). Narcotics agents found a meth lab inside a condo in which Brandi was one of the five suspects in the area.

Brandi has a history of troubles with the law: she's been arrested for shoplifting and unlawful use of a weapon.

James Bond 23 got a Go signal

Production for the upcoming Bond 23 movie received a go signal and Daniel Craig will reprise his role as the iconic British spy agent James Bond

MGM has released a press release:
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions, together with Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum, Co-Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., today announced that the 23rd James Bond film will commence production in late 2011 for a worldwide release on November 9, 2012. Daniel Craig will be returning as the legendary British secret agent, with Sam Mendes directing a screenplay written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan.

Kim Kardashian's younger sister Kendall Jenner continues to make a name for herself and in her latest gig, the 15-year-old model keeps it casually sexy with Marc Clark's new T-shirt line. 

Khloe blogged about her sister's new project, "I know I say it all the time, but I swear, she gets more and more professional with every shoot she does. It just blows my mind that both she and Kylie have transformed from my baby sisters into these beautiful young women."

Eddie Furlong arrested for violating a restraining order

Actor Eddie Furlong was arrested Tuesday morning (Jan 11) after he violated the terms of a restraining order against him. He violated a court order to stay at least 100 yards away from his estranged wife Rachael Kneeland (Rachel Bella).

According to TMZ, "During the hearing, the City Attorney told the judge Furlong had violated the restraining order last month by coming within 50 yards of Kneeland. The restraining order requires him to stay 100 yards from her."

He was held and released on $75,000 bail.

The couple ended their three-year marriage and filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences" last July 2009.  The couple's son, Ethan Page Furlong, was born on September 21, 2006.

Actress Vanessa del Moral plays it cute as Camila in her pictorial promo photos for GMA-7's fantasy series "Dwarfina"

GMA's newest primetime series headed by Heart Evangelista and Dennis Trillo premiered January 10 and it took the top spot in Metro Mamila TV ratings (AGB) with 15.4% followed by Jillian Namamasko Po generating 13.5%.

"Dwarfina" follows the story of a girl who was born with abnormality. She has been cursed by a black dwarfs, causing her to become no higher than eight inches. Her parents accidentally destroyed a mound inhabited by the supernatural creatures. The lovable Dwarfina grows up with the love and support of her family. Also, loving her despite her limitation is Lyndon (Dennis), childhood friend.

Vaness del Moral as Camila (magical dwarf), Dwarfina's loyal servant.

"Dwarfina" airs Monday to Friday in GMA Telebabad block.

Jewel & Ty Murray expecting their first child!

Singer Jewel will be singing sweet lullaby soon as she and her husband, rodeo star Ty Murray, have announced that they are expecting their first child.

"Going Platinum" co-host is in her second trimester and she's very ecstatic about the baby news:
"I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! It was so hard to keep it a secret. I was worried I'd start throwing up on set and everyone would be like, 'Oh, she's pregnant.' "
Trying to conceive for two years, Jewel revealed:
"I have always been a workaholic, so I had to learn how to slow down and take care of myself in a different way" and also added, "I'm trying to be in the moment and really enjoy my pregnancy. I feel really lucky."
The couple tied the knot in the Bahamas in August 2008. The great thing is, Jewel has an album titled Lullaby (collections of songs for kids).

Louise delos Reyes in "Alakdana" (GMA's afternoon series)

Young actress Louise delos Reyes is facing her biggest challenge in her career as she worked on her first lead role for the fantasy drama series "Alakdana".

In Alakdana, Louise plays the role of Adana, "a girl born with an extremely rare feature on her body: a scorpion tail. Despite her dark secret, Adana seeks to have a normal life but whenever danger threatens, her tail is ready to strike and stun its enemies."

Supporting her in this series is her leading men Paulo Avelin, Ritchie Paul Gutierrez and Alden Richards.

Other cast includes Jean Garcia, Matthew Mendoza, Jobelle Salvador, Joana Marie Tan, Perla Bautista, Racquel Montesa, Buboy Villar and Ian de Leon.

Mac Alejandre directed this series for GMA-7's afternoon block.

Jaime Pressly DUI Arrest: Alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit

Jaime Pressly registered a high alcohol level during her recent DUI arrest last January 5 and it is nearly three times the legal limit.

According to TMZ, Pressly blew the .22 (The legal limit in California is .08).

Jaime was pulled over by cops after she committed a traffic violation in Santa Monica. No traffic accident involved. A field sobriety test was conducted before she got booked for DUI.

The typical bail is $5,000 but for Jaime's case is was set and released at $15,000 (amount for blood alcohol level higher than 0.15).
