Geek Gear: Pokemon Shirt ‘Brock Obama’ Posted: 14 Feb 2011 10:18 PM PST The t-shirt deal of the day over at RIPT Apparel is the Pokemon-inspired shirt called called "Brock Obama." The tee, by artist Jeff Cheung, went on sale at RIPT today, Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at midnight CST, and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it's over, it will not be sold on the site anymore. Here's what the artist said about the design, which is a take on the Barack Obama "Hope" poster: "This design is about Brock's unending pursuit for Joy… Nurse Joy that is." [...] |
New Image From ‘Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’ Of Esme Isle Posted: 14 Feb 2011 07:02 PM PST In honor of Valentine's Day, the official Twilight Twitter account posted a new photo from Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, this time of Esme Isle. The tweet said... Happy Valentine's Day from Isle Esme! In the Twilight universe, Isle Esme is located off the coast of Rio de Janeiro and is owned by Esme Cullen, matriarch of the Cullen vampire clan. This is where Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) spend their honeymoon. Previous holiday-posted photos from the production were Bella's arm on the feather bed from the honeymoon (posted on Thanksgiving); the Swan family's Christmas setting (posted on Christmas; see image here below); and a nude Bella and Edward on their wedding night (posted on MLK Day) [...] |
Must See: Brutal & Brilliant ‘Twisted’ Disney Princesses Posted: 14 Feb 2011 06:33 PM PST OK, so you may be looking at these and realize you've seen them before. That's because they're actually pretty old, originally hitting the 'net a couple of years back. That said, sometimes you just don't find something until well after others have seen it, and this is for those of you like myself who had yet to discover them! If you're among those of us seeing these images for the first time, they come from the incredibly talented character designer and story artist, Jeffrey Thomas. He takes almost all of the beloved Walt Disney Princesses and gives them a more realistic and often brutal makeover, dubbing his works "Twisted Princess." These are all incredibly good, as you shall see, but my personal favorite has to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid, who happens to have a dinglehopper for a left hand. Yes, this is fact. Now you have to click on over to see for yourself, don't you? [...] |
Official New ‘Spider-Man’ Title Announced; New Image Of Andrew Garfield In Full Costume Posted: 14 Feb 2011 01:53 PM PST Columbia Pictures in association with Sony Pictures has officially announced the title of their upcoming Spider-Man reboot, being directed by Marc Webb. Seeing as how Sam Raimi and company used the simple Spider-Man for their titles, it should come as no great shock that this time around they're going with a nod to the comic books of old, titling the first in the planned franchise The Amazing Spider-Man. The movie stars Andrew Garfield (The Social Network, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus) as Peter Parker/Spidey, Emma Stone (Zombieland, Easy A) as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill, The Replacements) as Dr. Curt Connors/Lizard, Martin Sheen (Apocalypse Now, The Departed) as Uncle Ben, and Sally Field (Forrest Gump, Mrs. Doubtfire) as Aunt May. Also released along with the announcement of the new title is the best image of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man yet (seen above; click for much bigger size), in full costume including the mask that was missing the first time we saw the new suit. Video: ‘Captain America’ Meets ‘Team America’? Yes, Please Posted: 14 Feb 2011 09:46 AM PST A video has been making the rounds recently and it's quite brilliant. The video is a trailer mash-up, taking the just-released Captain America: The First Avenger Super Bowl TV spot and adding a little spunk to it in the form of the classic Team America: World Police tune, "America, F*ck Yeah!" Obviously if you've heard this song, you know it's one of the greatest songs ever created. You also know there's a bit of language involved that would be considered NSFW, so continue forward with caution. You can see the Captain America/Team America mash-up by clicking over now. [...] |
