Watch Now: First Look At ‘Batman: Year One’ Animated Feature Posted: 07 Jun 2011 07:39 PM PDT DC Entertainment has given us a first look at the upcoming Batman: Year One animated film, which is scheduled to hit stores later in the year. The video is primarily a showcase of the animation style for the feature film and how closely it paid tribute to David Mazzucchelli's brilliant artwork from the comic book. In addition, the video also has some of the voice actors, DC Executives, and creative minds behind the project discussing the importance of the comic and the specific characterizations of each of the main players in the story. E3 2011: ‘Modern Warfare 3′ VS. ‘Battlefield 3′ … Which Will YOU Play? Posted: 07 Jun 2011 06:27 PM PDT For those of you who don't know, Activision's Call of Duty video game franchise has been the top dog when it comes to warfare and especially when it comes to online (non-MMO) multiplayer action for a long while now. But after they forced out many of the top talent they had working for them at Infinity Ward, most fans were angered by the harsh, overdramatic tactics used in basically just "firing" these gentlemen, and confidence in how good the next chapter in their ultra-popular series, Modern Warfare 3, would end up being. As all of that drama was playing out, DICE was busy making a game titled Battlefield 3 for EA using the new Frostbite 2 engine. And when a demo of how the game looked showed up, many bitter Call of Duty fans seemed ready to jump ship without a second thought...especially with rumors of Activision starting to charge people to play online. We eventually found out that the new pay service was simply an added bonus for those who wanted to get it, and that everyone could continue playing online as they have been...but is it too late already? Both titles are being shown off in-depth at this year's E3 convention, so all we can do is watch and see which way we're leaning. You can see video "arguments" for both games below—watch them and share who you plan on playing come this fall! Modern Warfare 3 or Battlefield 3...who will it be? [...] |
Watch Now: David Tennant Appears In New ‘Fright Night’ Trailer Posted: 07 Jun 2011 02:11 PM PDT You know what? I was a little annoyed when the first trailers popped out for the upcoming remake of Fright Night. Don't get me wrong - I like Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin... but being a Doctor Who fan, I really wanted a glimpse of David Tennant. The first trailer gave us less than a second of the former Doctor. Well, finally, we have a new trailer - and this time we get a really nice glance at David Tennant's role in the new Fright Night, as he plays Peter Vincent, the vampire-hunting actor/hero. And not only do we get a glance - Tennant clearly has claimed the Vincent role as his own. Now, being a horror fan, I have high doubts about all remakes and reboots. Only a select few seem to meet expectations, but the look of the new Fright Night seems to show some promise. Either way, I'll reserve judgment for when I get to see the flick. In the meantime, check out the new trailer here below of Fright Night - with MORE David Tennant - which first aired during the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night. Let's kill something! [...] |
The Doctor Who TARDISblend 28: The Almost People Posted: 07 Jun 2011 12:36 PM PDT Continuing from the Doctor Who episode The Rebel Flesh, the Doctor (Matt Smith) and Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) find themselves face-to-face with a "clone" of the Time Lord, a Ganger-Doctor. Meanwhile, Rory (Arthur Darvill) is searching for the mineworker known as Jennifer (Sarah Smart), but may find himself dealing with more than he bargained for, as the Gangers continue to revolt against the humans they were created from. The battle reaches its peak, and is leading the Doctor and his companions to an unexpected but inescapable conclusion... During TARDISblend 28, we review the events of The Almost People, the second part of an adventure written by Matthew Graham - and one that leads directly into Steven Moffat's mid-season finale. We discuss the major cliffhanger - and incredible spoiler - of the episode, and its implications for the upcoming chapters [...] This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
DC Relaunch: ‘Batman, Incorporated’ Continues In 2012 Posted: 07 Jun 2011 09:40 AM PDT Fans who've been following Grant Morrison's Batman work have been waiting with baited breath ever since DC Comics announced their September relaunch. Would Grant Morrison have to wrap up his story before he was ready? Would DC Comics perform the dastardly deed of destroying the international work of The Dark Knight detective? Fear not, Batfans. On Monday, DC Comics announced on their official website that Morrison's Batman, Incorporated will start anew in early 2012 with a brand new number one issue. Joined by artist Chris Burnham, Morrison will be bringing the final 12 parts of the Leviathan storyline, which will conclude Morrison's 6-year Batman epic [...] |
