Charlie Sheen & Brooke Mueller with Twins: Family Photo Posted: 02 Aug 2011 10:59 AM PDT Slowly moving at the right direction..... It seems both Charlie Sheen and his ex-wife Brooke Mueller are now stepping up to be a good parent for their two-year-old twin sons, Bob and Max. Charlie and Brooke spent their weekend together with their sons and they even posed together for a family picture. "Harmony is our goal," Sheen told TMZ. "Sunday was a wonderful start." The former "Two and a Half Men" star and Brooke was involved in a domestic incident during their trip in Aspen back in December 2009 and filed divorce in November 2010. Charlie and Brooke tied the knot on May 30, 2008 and both spent time in rehab for alcohol and drug addictions. Brooke, who is still undergoing rehab treatment, can now expect great things after rehab stint. Charlie reportedly wants his ex-wife to move to a home in his neighborhood as soon as her treatment program ends so that they can work on and build up their family. Great news... Rise of the Planet of the Apes Snags PETA Award Posted: 01 Aug 2011 09:57 PM PDT Director Rupert Wyatt's movie imparts message of compassion with animal-friendly special effects. When it came time to cast Rise of the Planet of the Apes, director Rupert Wyatt chose to use groundbreaking computer-generated imagery (CGI) to portray the apes in his film, rather than using abused ape "actors" as other much-criticized films have. "We wanted to tell our story without using live apes for any number of reasons," he explained in his presentation at this year's Comic-Con. "It would be a cruel irony to tell the story of the exploited and repressed and use live apes to do so." Wyatt's compassionate decision has earned him PETA Asia's Proggy Award for Most Animal-Friendly Feature Film. PETA's Proggy Awards ("Proggy" stands for "progress") recognize animal-friendly achievements in commerce and culture. "Rise of the Planet of the Apes reminds viewers that animals are feeling beings who deserve compassion, and its stunning use of CGI shows that there's no need to subject apes to the stress of filmmaking," says PETA U.S. Senior Vice President Lisa Lange. "Rupert Wyatt's methods back up PETA's message that apes should be protected and respected." Great apes who are used in movies are forcibly taken from their mothers shortly after birth in a process that causes irreversible psychological harm to both the mother and her baby. The young apes are physically and psychologically abused during training to ensure that they will perform confusing, unnatural behaviors on command. By the time apes reach approximately 8 years of age, they are too strong to be safely handled and are often discarded at appalling roadside zoos or other substandard facilities, where they may languish for decades. Reese Witherspoon is set for Disney’s Wish List! Posted: 01 Aug 2011 09:22 PM PDT Reese Witherspoon will be facing the conflicts of her wishes as she signed on for Disney's romantic comedy, Wish List! According to Deadline, it is about an "overly imaginative little girl who makes ten wishes at a wishing well. They don't come true because her coin never reached the bottom and eventually she loses her inner child and becomes a full grown and ambitious career woman." Her dilemma happened 25 years later, "the coin is dislodged, falls to the bottom and she has to deal with the ramifications of 10 kid wishes coming true all at once." The story seems very intriguing and funny. Hope they deliver a good script. [Photo courtesy by Jackson/Getty Images] |
