Our crew down at Dragon*Con in Atlanta, GA, this weekend has gotten some awesome Doctor Who-themed photos, as this Con is the kind of place you'd expect a property like Doctor Who to be well represented. Also happening this weekend in Nevada's Black Rock Desert is Burning Man, and as it turns out, a fully working Dalek art car was on the scene. And to guard the Dalekmobile? A stormtrooper! Watch Now: Player Drops 9.3 Billion ‘Geometry Wars 2′ Score Posted: 05 Sep 2011 03:30 PM PDT If you've ever played Geometry Wars 2 or games like it, you know that they can be highly addicting and, for some people (such as myself, for example), they can be utterly frustrating. But some folks just have a knack for remaining cool under video game pressure (like Jimmy from The Wizard), and can land massive scores. Take, for instance, a player by the name of TheDannyOutlaw, who just pulled off an incredible 9,342,803,875 in Geometry Wars 2's Pacifism mode. It doesn't look so hard at first, but once the multiplier has the score at about 500,000,000 or so, you'll start to see how difficult this feat is to achieve. And the craziest thing about it? It's only the SECOND highest score ever accomplished. A player named Mr Raincloud scored 9,940,395,050 a couple of months back (watch here). Continue on below to see TheDannyOutlaw make a great run at the record score. [...] |

Dragon*Con 2011 Video: Wil Wheaton Mimes Eureka’s Series Finale Ending Posted: 05 Sep 2011 09:54 AM PDT Both fans and cast members of Syfy Channel original TV series Eureka lamented on the show's cancellation during a Eureka panel at Dragon*Con 2011 Sunday. But the sad news of Eureka's death didn't make the panel any less entertaining. For instance, Wil Wheaton (Dr. Isaac Parrish) fulfilled an audience member's request for details about Eureka's upcoming fifth season by miming the last scenes from the finale. Watch Now: ‘Conan the Barbarian: The Musical’ Posted: 05 Sep 2011 09:00 AM PDT Ever since Conan the Barbarian was first brought to life in 1932 by creator Robert E. Howard the character has endured the many decades since in books, comics, games, several films of varying quality, and on television in live-action and animated form. Conan has achieved great fame and success in every form of popular media short of being turned into a Broadway musical... until now. Jon and Al Kaplan, the writers and composers of the off-Broadway hit Silence! The Musical, which was inspired by the movie Silence of the Lambs, have composed a rousing little Conan-themed ditty called "Crom!" and have created a video to go with the song comprised of clips from the 1982 Conan the Barbarian film. You can watch that video below this article [...] |
Dragon*Con 2011 Video: D*CTV’s Avengers Anti-Drugs PSA Parody Posted: 05 Sep 2011 08:01 AM PDT The folks at Dragon*Con TV have released yet another of their humorous videos that play on all the panel screens while people wait in line and such at Dragon*Con 2011. The latest video features members of Marvel's most powerful superhero team The Avengers trying -- and failing -- to produce a public service announcement advising children not to do drugs. The humor of this situation -- as many long-time fans of the comic book know -- is that Tony Stark (a.k.a Iron Man) is a recovering alcoholic while the team's star spangled leader Captain America owes all of his powers to experimenting with drugs [...] |
