The Crow blu-ray

The movie's star may not have lived to see what has been hailed as his greatest film on the widest of screens, but that didn't stop The Crow, the controversial 1994 feature adaptation of the underground comic book miniseries by James O'Barr, from becoming a box office hit and spawning a franchise that includes three sequels, a short-lived television series, and a forthcoming remake. Now the original film that helped establish Miramax Films' genre movie arm Dimension Films as a major force in the industry that would give rise to the Scream and Scary Movie series several years later is coming to Blu-ray. You can check out the trailer and a list of special features below [...]

‘Wanted 2′ Brings Back Original Writers

Posted: 28 Sep 2011 12:07 PM PDT

Wanted

Ever since the first film hit, a sequel to the rather entertaining, albeit wholly vapid, actioner Wanted has been in the works. However, despite various different teams getting their chance to work on the film, it appears as though it will be the original duo who get the final stab at it.

THR is reporting that Derek Haas and Michael Brandt have been brought back to work on the upcoming film for Universal, and will be working on a new script, based on one penned back in 2009 by writer Evan Spiliotopoulos [...]

The GoD List: Comics For September 28, 2011

GoD List Banner

Each and every week "King Cobra?" Henchman21 and "Diamond Dallas" MK2FAC3 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible... theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn't? So, let's take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we'll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of September 28, 2011. Single issues and trades, they're all here.

There's a lot of good stuff coming out this week like Ultimate Spider-Man #2, but neither of us picked that because it's four dollars for 20 pages, and that's ridiculous. We did, however, pick everything from All-Star Western to Rachel Rising, so if you'd like to see why we picked those and what else we picked, the you should continue to read this story. And that's not a bad thing, it's a good thing. BANG! [...]

‘Skyrim’ Voice Cast Includes Christopher Plummer, Joan Allen, Max Von Sydow & Wonder Woman

Skyrim Banner

The voice cast for Bethesda Softworks' upcoming mega–game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has been officially announced, and it includes some very interesting names.

The first and already known actor is of course Max von Sydow, who gave us an early sample of his work in the game's announcement trailer back in December. Sydow is an Oscar–nominated actor (for Pelle the Conqueror) who's many films have included The Exorcist, Minority Report, Shutter Island, Robin Hood, and of course, and of course, Ghostbusters II as the voice of Vigo!

He's joined by the great Christopher Plummer, another Oscar–nominated actor (for The Last Station) who's best known for roles in films like The Sound of Music, The Man Who Would Be King, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Twelve Monkeys, A Beautiful Mind, and Disney*Pixar's Up, just to name a few.

Also among the voice cast is Joan Allen, a THREE–time Oscar nominee (Nixon, The Crucible, The Contender) who's known for Face/Off, The Notebook, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum, and Lynda Carter, who is, of course, Wonder Woman! [...]

Say What?! Ozzy’s ‘Bark At The Moon’ Makes Yahoo’s Worst Heavy Metal Albums List

Posted: 28 Sep 2011 08:04 AM PDT

Bark at the Moon

It's not often I'm compelled to write about another site's Top 10 list, but when I saw Ozzy Osbourne's Bark At The Moon made Yahoo's list of Ten Worst Heavy Metal Albums of All-Time, I was flabbergasted.

Seriously, Bark At The Moon? Worst of ALL TIME? No way!

According to the intro to the Yahoo! list, which also bafflingly includes Iron Maiden's Fear Of The Dark, to be considered for inclusion the band has to be "somewhat famous," stating "After all, why kick a band when it's down, who were never up in the first place?" That means, heavy metal bands people aren't really familiar with really wouldn't qualify, which makes their number 6 choice, Raven's The Pack Is Back, an odd selection considering they were less famous than their counterparts Anvil BEFORE the Anvil! The Story Of Anvil award-winning movie was released. So, until Raven!: The Story Of Raven becomes the breakout hit at Sundance, I'd say leave the band alone in their obscurity [...]
