Jeff Matsuda Sketches Batman For Fans To Promote New Mobile Game

Bat-Frisbee

Jeff Matsuda, the Emmy Award-winning creative director for The Batman animated television series, took to Reddit on Wednesday to promote his new mobile game Age of Monsters - Rock Paper Scissors by offering to draw any and all requests.

Reddit users took this advantage to have fun with Matsuda by asking for humorous Batman-related sketches such as Batman and Alfred playing frisbee (seen above), a Breaking Bad inspired image featuring characters from the hit show dressed as Batman and Robin, as well as Batman and Spock high fiving (my personal fave) [...]

From a Roland Emmerich Shakespeare picture, to Bryan Singer's long talked about Battlestar Galactica project, writer John Orloff is having quite an intriguing career.

With her star distinctly on the rise, if it hasn't already gone through the roof, actress Carey Mulligan has now become one of the biggest names in the acting game.

Variety is reporting that both The Coen Brothers and Spike Jonze have tapped the actress to star as the female lead in their respective next pictures. For the pair of brothers, she'll star opposite Oscar Isaac in Inside Llewyn Davis, and opposite Joaquin Phoenix in Jonze's next project [...]

This Gangs Of ‘Oz’ Infographic Gives A Breakdown Of The Inmates Of Em City

Oz (HBO TV series)

It's not uncommon for large groups of people confined to depressing institutions where their every move is monitored and their freedoms are limited to divide up into splinter factions where each group's solitary unifying factor is either their race, gender, nationality, heritage, lifestyle choice, or their desire to survive to see another sunset, and I'm not just talking about high school.

One of the basic rules of survival when you end up spending an extended amount of time behind bars is to join a gang, something that the brilliant television series Oz taught me.

Check out this infographic here below called A Look At The Gangs In Oz which breaks down every gang on Oz, listing the leaders, along with the criminal statistics of the gang members [...]

Mark Millar and Matthew Vaughn Teaming Up For ‘The Secret Service’

Posted: 21 Oct 2011 10:32 AM PDT

Over the past few years, the pair of Matthew Vaughn and Mark Millar have become relatively connected at the proverbial hip. Be it their take on Millar's Kick-Ass or the much talked about adaptation of Superior that is set to take shape, their friendship doesn't appear to be ending anytime soon.

According to The Playlist, the pair will be working on a big screen take on the recently announced comic, The Secret Service, which finds Millar and Vaughn teaming with artist Dave Gibbons. Vaughn holds the film rights to the project, and it should be looking to get going in the near future [...]

Interview: ‘Inkubus’ and ‘Detroit Rock City’ Screenwriter Carl Dupre

Posted: 21 Oct 2011 09:10 AM PDT

Halloween is just around the corner and screenwriter Carl Dupre has plans to make it as scary as he can. His latest movie, the Robert Englund-starring Inkubus, hits theaters across the Unites States this month and its writer promises to gross you out, but in a good way.

As well as writing a handful of horror sequels (including Prophecy 3: The Ascent, Hellraiser: Hellseeker, Hellraiser: Hellworld) and being a prolific short story writer, Dupre is also a dab hand at comedy. I have been a fan of Dupre's writing since he wrote one of my favorite movies, the hilarious KISS-centric Detroit Rock City. In a recent interview with Dupre, the screenwriter gave me some insight as to how he wrote Detroit Rock City, what is was like on set, and getting to meet KISS.

But first things first: horror.

Geeks of Doom: So, Inkubus – how did that come about? [...]

Jonathan Ke Quan, who starred in the 1984 film as the Indiana Jones kid sidekick, turned 40 this year*. Check out what the actor looks like today in the photo here below, along with a video interview with Quan from The Goonies 25th Anniversary release.

Quan is best remembered for his Temple Of Doom role where he spouted classic lines like "Hey, Dr. Jones, no time for love," "Hey, lady! You call him Dr. Jones," and "Hang on lady, we going for a ride." [...]

It's getting there!!! Those that are the lest bit familiar with the origin of The Bionic Man know that Steve Austin's origin can't be told in one or two issues. But in this third issue of the title, Kevin Smith, Phil Hester, and company start getting down to business.

I know what some of you are thinking. "It's just a comic based on a TV show," but let me assure you, that this issue is PACKED with both character development and emotion. It's got just as much as any creator-owned or non-licensed comic that I've ever read [...]
