Rockstar Games Officially Announces ‘Grand Theft Auto 5′ Posted: 25 Oct 2011 08:05 PM PDT It's been safely assumed for a while now that Rockstar Games, the popular video game studio behind huge franchises like Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne, as well as the remarkable open-world western, Red Dead Redemption, and the recent L.A. Noire, which they published for Team Bondi, has been hard at work on Grand Theft Auto V, the follow-up to 2008's record-shattering hit, GTA IV. Now those assumptions have been confirmed in a subtle announcement from Rockstar. If you go to the company's website, you'll see the subtle announcement...and not much more. [...] |
Posted: 25 Oct 2011 07:30 PM PDT Key of Z #1 Written by Claudio Sanchez, Chondra Echert Art by Aaron Kuder Colors by Charlie Kirchoff Letters by Johnny Lowe Covers by Nathan Fox, Tony Moore (Variant), Declan Shalvey (NYCC Exclusive Variant) Evil Ink! Comics/BOOM! Studios Release Date: October 19, 2011 Cover Price: $3.99 It's always a little difficult for me to write a review on something where I feel a little emotionally attached. For those who haven't been paying attention to this site, we've covered Key of Z pretty much since its inception when we interviewed both Claudio Sanchez and Chondra Echert at last year's New York Comic-Con when it was still known as Subway Seriez up to this past month when we interviewed the writers again to revisit the series and see what else was coming up. They've always been super generous, kind, and open to me. So, that makes viewing the comic objectively extremely hard. It's because of this, and the fact that Sanchez's band Coheed and Cambria is my favorite band of all time, that I am extremely hard on their books when I read them. That said, I adored the team's previous work Kill Audio and I love Key of Z #1 [...] |
Watch A New Honeymoon Clip From ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1′ Posted: 25 Oct 2011 06:50 PM PDT Back in July at San Diego Comic-Con, Summit Entertainment debuted a clip from one of the honeymoon scenes from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1. You can now watch part of that clip, titled "Don't Take Too Long Mrs. Cullen!," here below. In my coverage of the SDCC Breaking Dawn, I gave the full description of the scene, which sees Edward and Bella now husband and wife arriving at their honeymoon destination [...] |

‘The Walking Dead’ Renewed For A Third Season Posted: 25 Oct 2011 02:12 PM PDT This news will come as a shock to no one, but the smash hit AMC horror series The Walking Dead, only two episodes into its second season, has already been renewed for a third season. The Emmy-winning show based on the comic book series created by Robert Kirkman, who's also a producer on the show, has scored record numbers in the ratings ever since it returned; over ten million viewers in 122 countries watched the season premiere on October 16, 2011 with seven million in the United States alone [...] |
Is Michael Bay’s ‘Pain And Gain’ Like ‘Fargo’? Posted: 25 Oct 2011 01:30 PM PDT It may seem a bit farfetched, but according to one half of the writing team behind Michael Bay's next film, Pain And Gain, the project will be decidedly different than his previous work. Writer Stephen McFeely revealed to The Playlist that the upcoming project, which itself is a black comedy based on a true crime, is closer to films like the Coen Brothers' Fargo, than anything he has done in his career [...] |
Posted: 25 Oct 2011 11:47 AM PDT Spaceman #1 (of 9) Written by Brian Azzarello Pencils by Eduardo Risso Colors by Patricia Mulvihill and Giulia Brusco Letters by Clem Robins Cover by Dave Johnson DC/Vertigo Release date: October 26, 2011 Cover Price: $1.00 Brian Azzarello. Eduardo Risso. These are two comic creators whose names create instant excitement when attached to a new project, especially when they are on the same book, as they are with their new series from DC/Vertigo, which launches this week with Spaceman #1. Azzarello and Risso are the team that brought us a landmark run with their series 100 Bullets. They were also the team for possibly the best thing to come out of DC's Flashpoint event, with their Batman: Knight of Vengeance mini-series. So, when they start a new project, it's easy to get me and many other comics fans excited. It's a good thing then that Spaceman is very good, because you do not want to see a bunch of fanboys get pissed off when things don't live up to their expectations [...] |
Watch Now: Sinestro Goes Too Far In ‘Robot Chicken’ DC Special Posted: 25 Oct 2011 10:12 AM PDT Popular Adult Swim stop-motion comedy Robot Chicken will be doing a very special episode dedicated to the comic book characters of DC Comics, and they've released a brand new clip from the special entitled "Give It Up, Sinestro" which you can watch here below. In this clip, we see an altercation between The Green Lantern Hal Jordan and his ultimate rival Sinestro. In the battle, Sinestro goes a bit too far and cuts off the hands of protector of space sector 2814. Handless, Jordan returns to the guardian planet where he is granted a new ring, and I gotta say, it's not the kind of ring I was expecting [...] |

Warner Bros., the studio that has banked more than $12 billion thanks to J.K. Rowling's world of wizards and wonder, has announced that they are pulling all eight of the Harry Potter movies out of circulation as of December 29, 2011. That means once store inventory runs out, they won't be restocked. The films will still be available in digital formats and the video games based on the series will remain for sale [...] |
