Comic Review: Doctor Who, Vol. II #9 Posted: 03 Nov 2011 05:21 PM PDT Doctor Who Volume II: Issue #9 Written by Tony Lee Art by Josh Adams Colors by Rachelle Rosenberg Letters by Neil Uyetake Covers by Mark Buckingham, Charlie Kirchoff, and Ben Templesmith IDW Publishing Release Date: October 05, 2011 Cover Price: $3.99 The major point you need to know about this issue of IDW's Doctor Who, is that while the Doctor is with Rory and Amy, he has a new companion. An intelligent robot dinosaur called Kevin the Tyrannosaurus. This concept is as ridiculous as it is brilliant! The writers obviously leave it unexplained how Kevin enters and exits the TARDIS, but his sheer presence in this issue is marvelous. For all intents and purposes, Kevin becomes the celebrity of this Doctor Who comic, playing a pivotal role as the story reaches its conclusion [...] |
Dark Horse Comics Announces New BioWare ‘Dragon Age’ Series Posted: 03 Nov 2011 04:07 PM PDT Dark Horse Comics announced on this week that they will be teaming with video game giants BioWare to publish a brand new comic book series based off the hugely popular Dragon Age franchise. The most interesting thing about the new 6-issue limited series is that it will be written by the lead writer of the Dragon Age video games, David Gaider. So, instead of feeling just like an ordinary adaptation or another author's interpretation of the story, the comic will take Dragon Age fans further into the mythos of the RPG series [...] |
A Rumored Lack Of Funds Shuts Down Production Of ‘Riddick’ Posted: 03 Nov 2011 03:05 PM PDT The production of Riddick, the latest in the sci-fi action franchise starring Vin Diesel as a fearsome criminal antihero with exceptional night vision, was well underway before it was shut down reportedly due to a severe cash flow shortage. TMZ spoke with Michel Trudel, the owner of the studio in Montreal where the film was shooting, who said that Diesel's production company One Race Films has failed to make its payments for the use of his facilities on time. As a result Trudel states that he was forced to evict the Riddick cast and crew from the studio and even changed the locks until he is paid in full. He's not alone there; according to unnamed sources close to the production, more than a few members of the crew have not received their paychecks in over two weeks [...] |
