The American Idol season 8 runner-up considered Queen and its late frontman Freddie Mercury as one of his musical influences. During their performance they featured a medley, including "Show Must Go On," "We Will Rock You," and "We Are the Champions." Queen was honored with the Global Icon Award.

The ex-couple carried a clause in their pre-nuptial agreement allowing her to buy it for the price he paid. The 20.5 carat engagement ring has a proposed value of $2 million.
