Brett Ratner Resigns as 2012 Oscar Show Producer

After the controversial comments, Brett Ratner has decided to back out and canceled his services as producer for the 2012 Academy Awards.
Ratner said in a statement (via THR), "I called Tom Sherak this morning and resigned as a producer of the 84th Academy Awards telecast. Being asked to help put on the Oscar show was the proudest moment of my career. But as painful as this may be for me, it would be worse if my association with the show were to be a distraction from the Academy and the high ideals it represents."
The 42 year-old director recently made a controversial inappropriate remarks for saying "rehearsal is for fags" and talking about his sex life --- Having sex "few times" with actress Olivia Munn in which he later on apologized and admitted that he lied about the story.

Sherak, the  president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, said that Ratner's resignation is "the right thing for the Academy and for himself." and added that "his comments were unacceptable."

Eddie Murphy was recruited by Brett to be the next host of 84th Academy Awards and now it's on jeopardy.

Brett is best known for directing the Rush Hour film series, The Family Man, Red Dragon, X-Men: The Last Stand, and Tower Heist.

Mike Tyson on Joe Frazier’s Death

Former Boxing champ Mike Tyson recognized the great contribution of the late boxing legend "Smokin" Joe Frazier. Iron Mike issued a statement via Twitter to honor the icon.

Mike tweeted, "Today is a sad yet remarkable day as we mourn the death of boxing legend Joe Frazier & honor him by celebrating his amazing accomplishments. Frazier and Ali were quintessential the apex of pedigree fighting in which each man would not give an inch until they were dead."

"Their era was competitive fighting at the highest level. As a young fighter it has always been an honor to be compared to Frasier. My family and I are sending our sincerest condolences to the Joe Frazier family."
Frazier passed away Monday, November 7, a month after being diagnosed with liver cancer.

He fought Muhammad Ali three times in an epic rivalry in the 70's. Their last historic battle is the 1975's "Thrilla in Manila".
