In a world in which the dead rarely stay dead and old enemies rise to cause havoc again, it is important to know the history of most B.P.R.D. books. In B.P.R.D.: Being Human Mignola and Arcudi tackle the often brought up but seldom detailed pasts of B.P.R.D. agents Abe Sapien, Roger, Liz, and Johann. In this collection of backstories we are introduced to the dark and often devastating pasts of each character as they go on their first field mission or struggle with life as a B.P.R.D. field agent [...] |
Google Map ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Walking Directions Posted: 23 Dec 2011 06:00 PM PST The characters in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy did a lot of walking -- A LOT -- especially the hobbits Frodo and Sam, who were on a quest to bring the One Ring to Mordor. Too bad there were no Google Maps walking directions for Middle Earth, then the hobbits wouldn't have had to rely on that double-crossing Gollum. But, we all know what they say about walking into Mordor, right? Check out the screenshot here below of what you'll get if you search Google Maps for walking directions from The Shire to Mordor [...] |

Project Rooftop: Andy Trabbloid’s Firestorm Redesign Posted: 23 Dec 2011 01:00 PM PST Artist Andy Trabbloid took a shot at doing a redesign of Firestorm, the DC Comics superhero, and it is totally awesome. For those of you that don't follow Project Rooftop, it's a place that showcases fan art redesigns of popular characters from all of pop culture. And the Andy Trabbloid redesign of Firestorm is one of those gems [...] |
Interview: Sebastian Bach Guitarist Nick Sterling Posted: 23 Dec 2011 12:00 PM PST Nick Sterling is one of the most exciting guitarists on the planet right now. Sebastian Bach's latest axeslinger has revitalised the ex-Skid Row frontman. This year, Sterling co-wrote the excellent new album, Kicking and Screaming, Bach's finest solo effort to date. Only 21 years old, Sterling already has three solo albums to his name and over thirteen years' experience playing live concerts. I called Sterling and in his thick Southwestern accent he talked about performing with Sebastian Bach and being the "Teller to Sebastian's Penn." Geeks of Doom: How are the live shows going so far? Nick Sterling: They're going really good. I've been playing with Sebastian for a little while now, I started with him in December 2009. When I first started we didn't really have any of the new songs really worked out or anything but that's kind of what we're starting to do with these shows now in support of the new record…but yeah the shows have been great and it's been wonderful to be a part of the band. It's great to get to play with everybody, the musicians are wonderful. I get to play with Bobby Jarzombeck [Sebastian Bach drummer] on stage every day. It's pretty cool [...] |
