DC Relaunch: Six Comics Canceled and Replaced With ‘Second Wave’

DC Comics announced on Thursday that they would be setting up the second wave of "New 52" releases while also canceling six ongoing comics that were released in the initial run of the DC Relaunch.

Resting in peace are six comics that were quite good and enjoyable or had a lot of potential to be great, so they will definitely be missed. Those comic books are Blackhawks - a war comic focusing on a group of militaristic mercenaries in the vein of G.I. Joe; Hawk and Dove - the only DC book written by the extremely talented Sterling Gates with art from Rob Liefeld (more on him in another article); Men of War - a war book that was one of my favorite comics of the relaunch that took a realistic approach to the military in a world full of superheroes; Mister Terrific - one of the very few DC comics with a person of color as the leading role. Four Lions

Drafthouse Films
Originally Released: May 07, 2010

Four Lions has been labeled by many as a "dark comedy" movie, but let's be honest: the term "dark comedy" is a safe phrase added to comedic media that pushes the boundaries and is truthfully dares to make light of that which is considered too taboo to joke about. In other words, it is irreverent humor, which is my kind of comedy film. Four Lions, complete with brilliant performances, an excellent cameo from Benedict Cumberbatch, and the abovementioned irreverent comedy is what we have been waiting for a long time: a swift kick in the nuts of political correctness. Somethin' Stupid

That's right, ladies and gentlemen, it's yet another Skyrim video! If you've not noticed, I have something of a obsession going on here, and if it's Skyrim-related and makes me giggle, it must be shared.

This new video in particular had me giggling like a kid getting tickled by his parents for the first time, unlike that rather strange last video we saw, which only haunted my dreams. [...]

‘Conan’ & ‘Friday The 13th’ Remake Director Marcus Nispel To Take On ‘Hack/Slash’

Hack/Slash

One comic book-to-movie adaptation that many have been excited about is Hack/Slash, based on the comic of the same name created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli. Unfortunately there's been some delays and complications in getting the project moving, and so those who are excited have had to wait impatiently for movement.

Now it appears things are picking up for the Relativity Media title, though whether you will still be excited or not is worthy of discussion. [...]

I gotta tell you, once a month when I read G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, I feel like I'm a kid watching the G.I. Joe cartoon after school. And nothing is as fun as that! I'm really surprised that sales on this title don't eclipse the sales on the other G.I. Joe books, because this is what Joe fans have always wanted.

I almost wish there were two books set in writer Larry Hama's Real American Hero universe. I would LOVE a Larry Hama Snake Eyes solo book [...]
