What I took away from The Dark Crystal Volume 1: Creation Myths was WAY different than what I thought I would, but it's my own fault. I have fantastic memories of my mom and dad taking me to see that movie and I remember reading the comic adaptation until the cover fell off. While I was expecting to revisit that world and thoroughly enjoy it, which I did, but on a totally different level. The only problem -- I haven't seen The Dark Crystal film since 1982 [...]

Release Date: January 18, 2012
Cover Price: $1.00

Just about everyone knows the basic premise behind the story of Tarzan. For some reason, that's NOT the loincloth, he's always been one of my favorite characters since I was a kid. That's why, when I got the chance to review Lord of the Jungle #1, I jumped at it.

Writer Arvid Nelson had a pretty humongous task ahead of him. Since the 1940s pretty much any incarnation in any entertainment medium of the Tarzan character has been a bust. Thankfully, Nelson took what everyone knew about the character, chose the best parts, and wrote a comic [...]

Cover Price: $3.99

I've never seen an episode of The Avengers TV show which this comic is based on, and I've never been a huge Grant Morrison fan. So, why did I ask to review Steed And Mrs. Peel #1? For something different. Thankfully, although I was a little confused at times, I was very pleasantly surprised.

Nothing really needs to be said about writer Grant Morrison, so I'm not going to. As I stated before, I'm not at all familiar with The Avengers television series, but I really don't think that it hurt my enjoyment of the book at all. Granted, there were a few things that I didn't appreciate like, somebody who had been a fan of the TV show, but all in all, it's a great mystery/spy story [...]
