Letters by Shawn Lee
Covers by Dan Duncan, Kevin Eastman, and Rob Guillory
IDW Publishing
Release Date: January 25, 2012
Cover Price: $3.99

Month after month, this book gets more entertaining and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #6 is no exception. You get everything you wanted in a Turtles comic, in spades.

I'm not sure how Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz split the writing chores, but they are doing a fantastic job on this book. There's SO much going on, but the audience is never confused or overwhelmed. What impresses me most is that they've stuck to the characteristics of the Turtles, but yet, there's a tangible tension at times between the four brothers [...]

Ryan Reynolds and Reese Witherspoon Join ‘Big Eyes’ For Tim Burton

Posted: 25 Jan 2012 04:00 PM PST

Tim Burton

Very few names pop up that are quite as harsh on the ears as one Tim Burton.

Over the past few years, Burton's career has fallen on hard times, making a fine amount of money at the box office, but becoming something of a critical pariah. But now, as producer, things may be changing as he's got one hell of a cast for his next flick.

THR is reporting that both Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds have joined the cast of his new project, a biopic entitled Big Eyes. [...]

Catherine Zeta-Jones Joins Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Side Effects’

Posted: 25 Jan 2012 03:00 PM PST

Despite losing Annapurna Films as a co-financer just a week after getting them on board, the new Steven Soderbergh film Side Effects just got a whole lot classier.

Deadline is reporting that Catherine Zeta-Jones has joined the film's cast, which includes Blake Lively, Jude Law, and Channing Tatum.

Penned by Scott Z. Burns, the film follows a woman (Lively) who's dealing with much anxiety and depression, particularly over the upcoming release of her husband (played by Tatum) from prison, leading her to take dangerous amounts of prescription drugs and into a relationship with a doctor (Law). Zeta-Jones plays Dr. Erica Siebert. [...]

Steve Niles and Menton3′s ‘Nosferatu Wars’ Comes To ‘Dark Horse Presents’

Posted: 25 Jan 2012 02:00 PM PST

Nosferatu Wars Header

Dark Horse Comics announced Monday that Steve Niles and Menton3's Nosferatu Wars is coming to the pages of Dark Horse Presents later this year.

A while back, Steve Niles posted some artwork for the upcoming Nosferatu Wars on his twitter account, and while he's intent on going creator owned, I for one wondered what publisher this comic would be released through. I figured that it was a safe assumption that the book would be coming out through IDW considering his working relationship with the publisher on his new 30 Days of Night ongoing series. [...]

Although summer is still months away, it feels like it's here because Infestation 2 #1 feels like a big summer crossover/comic event. And in fact, it is.

Duane Swierczynski does a FANTASTIC job setting up this event. This issue is both set up AND execution. While none of the licensed characters appear in this issue, you get the origin of the monsters that are set loose to go and attack the Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the GI Joe team, and more [...]

Scott Rudin Bringing Sundance Hit Documentary ‘Indie Game’ To The Small Screen On HBO

Posted: 25 Jan 2012 11:00 AM PST

No one appears to know nerds quite like producer Scott Rudin.

Having backed the beloved The Social Network, the super producer has just made one of the bigger deals at this year's Sundance Film Festival (still in the very early days, for what it is worth), picking up the remake rights to the documentary Indie Game: The Movie.

The film looks into the development of three respective independently developed video games, and four of the creators behind them, as well as their refusal to go and work for major game developers while trying to score big with their own indie works. [...]

Edgar Wright & Simon Pegg Hint At ‘Shaun Of The Dead,’ ‘Hot Fuzz’ Follow-Up

Posted: 25 Jan 2012 09:00 AM PST

Shaun of the Dead

It's hard to put into words just how good Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are. Because of this, fans of the movies have been impatiently awaiting the arrival of the third movie in what's often times called the "Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy."

The movies aren't connected apart from the never-fail combination of director Edgar Wright and stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, as well as their very basic recipe: take a popular genre (horror, action, _____?), introduce generous slice of comedic fried gold,, and run wild with it. Oh, right, and a sprinkle of blood and ice cream to enhance flavor, of course. [...]

Lily Collins Leaves ‘The Evil Dead’ Remake

Posted: 25 Jan 2012 08:00 AM PST

A little back story.

After it was announced that not only would the beloved Evil Dead franchise would be rebooted with a script from Diablo Cody and director Fede Alvarez, but that one Lily Collins would be the star of the film. However, that's not the case.

Variety's Jeff Sneider tweeted that the actress would be leaving the project due to scheduling issues. No one has popped up replacing the young thespian, but this is such a hot project, it's impossible to see this thing staying vacant for too long. [...]
