Rumor Alert: Harrison Ford In Talks For New ‘Blade Runner’ Film Posted: 04 Feb 2012 02:14 PM PST Back in March 2011, Alcon Entertainment announced that they had obtained the rights to make both prequels and sequels to the 1982 Ridley Scott science fiction classic film, Blade Runner. In August 2011, the news broke that Scott had signed on to return to helm the next film, which Alcon stated they wanted to be completely original from the first Blade Runner movie. Now, Twitch Film is reporting that actor Harrison Ford, who starred in the original Blade Runner, is in early talks to be in the new film [...] |
A ‘Back to the Future’ Musical Possibly Coming To Broadway? Posted: 04 Feb 2012 01:00 PM PST When a classic film franchise's prospects of returning to the big screen have forever dried up, its creators look for any remaining possibility of milking every last cent from the property's dormant viability. So it doesn't surprise me in the least that the 1985 sci-fi comedy blockbuster Back to the Future might be the latest beloved film of my youth to be resurrected as a Broadway musical [...] |
Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy Fire Back At Fox News’ Attacks On ‘The Muppets’ Posted: 04 Feb 2012 12:00 PM PST You can't blame the good people at Fox News for feeling the need to stir up some outrage; their relentless campaign of disinformation against President Obama has made them pariahs among more respectable news outlets and the current crop of Republican presidential candidates isn't exactly inspiring confidence that the GOP will take back the White House this Fall (in a recent Fox News poll 44% of their viewers now believe that Obama would win a second term if either Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich were the 2012 Republican candidate for President). One of the network's favorite targets has always been "liberal" Hollywood and how they want to impose their debauched lifestyles and depraved beliefs on the fragile young mindsets of young Americans and lay waste to traditional family values in an apocalyptic fire of legalized abortion and medicinal marijuana [...] |

Dark Horse Comics To Collect Mike Norton’s ‘Battlepug’ Posted: 04 Feb 2012 10:00 AM PST Dark Horse Comics announced this week that they would be collecting Mike Norton's Battlepug web comic this July. Now, you may not know what Battlepug is, and for that I hold a great deal of contempt towards you. Battlepug is Mike Norton's ongoing web comic telling the tale of a barbarian on revenge quest -- a revenge quest that is aided by a giant pug. You see, pugs are completely awesome. As any pug owner will attest, my wife and I included, pugs are pretty much the perfect breed, so it makes complete sense that Mike Norton would tell this Conan-esque story while using a giant pug to make the comic that much more awesome. So, basically it's about a pug that battles. How could anything be better than that? Spoiler Alert: It's impossible [...] |
