Producer Confirms Michael Bay For ‘Transformers 4′; Says Movie Will Be A Hybrid Reboot Posted: 13 Feb 2012 08:37 PM PST Whether or not another Transformers movie would be made or not was never really a question---the franchise has made over $2.5 billion at the box office, the latest installment, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, bringing in more than $1.1 billion alone. The real question was whether Michael Bay would return to direct for a fourth time, and what cast would be returning. Now we have some answers by way of producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who spoke to MTV recently. The producer said that Bay will indeed be returning to direct Transformers 4, and that the movie would be arriving some time in 2014. This has since been confirmed by Paramount Pictures, who sent out a press release announcing Bay's involvement and a June 29, 2014 release date. [...] |
Guillermo Del Toro To Direct Retelling Of ‘Beauty and The Beast’ Starring Emma Watson Posted: 13 Feb 2012 07:17 PM PST Writer, director, producer, game-maker, and all-around ultra-busy dude, Guillermo del Toro has a lot going on. And by "a lot" we mean A-freakin'-LOT. Adding to the pile of things he has/wants to do, it's being reported that del Toro is now set up to direct Beauty, a retelling of the story of Beauty and the Beast, for Warner Brothers. The period film already has a star attached in Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger in the juggernaut Harry Potter franchise, and a writer in Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones's Diary, The Three Musketeers [2011]). Music Review: Adam WarRock ‘You Dare Call That Thing Human?!?’ Posted: 13 Feb 2012 05:00 PM PST You Dare Call That Thing Human?!? Adam WarRock CD Bandcamp Release Date: February 13, 2012 Adam WarRock continues to perfect his unique sound as You Dare Call That Thing Human?!? shows the artist's growth from comic book-themed rapper to serious emcee with a comic book twist. Adam WarRock, otherwise known as Eugene Ahn, has grown considerably over the past few years and that is most evident with his latest album. Starting off with 2010's The War For Infinity, the self-proclaimed "Internet's Foremost Comic Book Rapper" showed hip hop fans a brand new sound that blended the east coast style of acts like The Wu-Tang Clan with the nerdcore sound of acts like MC Lars, while also telling a story centered around Marvel Comics' event comic The Infinity Gauntlet. While WarRock has not abandoned this style at all, Ahn seems to have completely found his voice with You Dare Call That Thing Human?!? [...] |

Ghost Rider Co-Creator Loses Lawsuit; Ordered To Pay Marvel $17K Posted: 13 Feb 2012 09:27 AM PST Gary Friedrich, co-creator of the Marvel Comics character Ghost Rider, was ordered to pay the publishing company $17,000 this week in a counter-suit resulting from an intellectual property claim against the publisher. This is a really messy case, that no matter how you look at it it's going to be terrible and ugly, but before we get into all of that, here's a little backstory on the case. Some of this information is cloudy, but it seems like the counter-suit has been won by Marvel, but they're offering to drop that lawsuit if Friedrich settles to new arrangements made by the publishing company. Not everything is clear, and as of writing this article, I don't have access to the court documents and all the information needed, but the details are truly irrelevant if you take the rest of the situation into consideration [...] |
