‘Y Tu Mama Tambien’ Star Gael Garcia Bernal Is ‘Zorro Reborn’ Posted: 16 Feb 2012 08:14 PM PST Mexican actor Gael García Bernal is immensely talented, as anyone who has seen his work in foreign films such as Y Tu Mamá También, Amores Perros, The Motorcycle Diaries, and The Science of Sleep will tell you. It's been assumed by many that he would rise up to become quite the superstar. but whether through his own preference or lack of exposure, he's remained somewhat in the shadows. The actor has appeared in some more mainstream titles like Letters to Juliet, Blindness, and Best Picture nominee Babel, but now it appears he could be stepping out into that Hollywood spotlight, as so many have expected him to eventually do. Mimobot Makes Flash Drives Cool At Toy Fair 2012 Posted: 16 Feb 2012 06:00 PM PST Blank DVDs and CDs are going the way of the dinosaurs in favor of the infinitely reusable and non-OS specific (usually) flash drive. These little devices allow sharing of data with the click of a USB port, and they're much greener than one time use only discs if you're into that sort of thing. For the longest time these little devices had all the style of a giant suppository, but that's just not the case any longer. Mimobot is a company that's creating USB flash drives and card readers that allow their owners to show off their geek love while still having a flash drive at the ready. [...] |
Watch Now: Three New Clips from ‘John Carter’ Posted: 16 Feb 2012 05:00 PM PST Walt Disney Pictures has released three new clips from John Carter, director Andrew Stanton's mega-budget adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic Martian Tales Trilogy. You can watch them here below. In the first clip Carter (Taylor Kitsch) has his first encounter with Martian warlord Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe). The second is a scene between Kitsch and Lynn Collins, playing Dejah Thoris, where Carter's dilemma becomes all too clear to him. [...] |
Video: The Truth Behind The Van Halen Brown M&Ms Ban Posted: 16 Feb 2012 04:00 PM PST I've been a Van Halen fan pretty much my whole life, and one of the biggest secrets surrounding the band is the mystery of why brown-colored M&Ms were banned from their dressing rooms. Touring artists usually have contracts with the venue where they're performing with what's known as a Rider - a set of requests that the venue must fulfill. The rider usually contains a list of specific drinks, food, backstage set-ups, and dressing room arrangements, and when these riders become public, there's always items on there that just scream "Diva!" Van Halen was one of the first bands to have these rider contracts, and when their's was made public, it was discovered that there was a demand for a bowl of M&M's to placed in their dressing room. Not so outlandish, right? Except that they specifically stated that there should be NO brown M&M's in the bowl [...] |
Brad Pitt-Starring ‘Cogan’s Trade’ Gets A Release Date Posted: 16 Feb 2012 03:00 PM PST It's been far too long. Following his brilliant film, The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, a meditative and neo-Altman/Bergman-esque take on the western, we've waited with bated breath for the return of director Andrew Dominik, and it's now time. Box Office Mojo reveals that Cogan's Trade has been tapped to bow on September 21, further hinting that the film will likely debut at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals later this year. [...] |

Paramount To Remake Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘Suspicion’ Posted: 16 Feb 2012 01:00 PM PST Sure, remaking a classic from one of film's most iconic filmmakers, Alfred Hitchcock, seems like a daunting task. And it is, but this one may feature the right creative team to make it work. Variety reports that Hitch's classic film, Suspicion, is set to be remade by Paramount, with The Killing showrunner Veena Sud attached to adapt the film, itself based on the French novel, Before The Fact. NBC’s ‘Red Dragon’ Series ‘Hannibal’ Gets Season Order Posted: 16 Feb 2012 11:00 AM PST That didn't take too long. Not at all. THR is reporting that NBC has gone ahead and ordered a full season of the upcoming Bryan Fuller series, Hannibal, based on the characters from Thomas Harris' iconic crime novel, Red Dragon. BioWare Says ‘Mass Effect 3′ On PC Will Not Support Use Of Controllers Posted: 16 Feb 2012 10:00 AM PST I'm a console gamer, through and through. I'm aware of how much more powerful and smooth PC games are, but playing with one hand on a keyboard and one on a mouse is irredeemably annoying and uncomfortable for me personally. The one and only way you may one day see me trying out PC gaming is if I used a console controller, and with consoles likely inching ever closer and closer to being computers themselves, that's not happening any time soon. But for anyone who prefers PC gaming with a controller over the traditional keyboard and mouse set up, Mass Effect 3 might not be quite as exciting as it once was to those of you who were looking forward to playing it. New International Trailer For ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Hits Posted: 16 Feb 2012 08:01 AM PST As the film's July 3rd release date looms, yet another trailer for the upcoming film The Amazing Spider-Man has hit, and it may be the best one yet. Sony has released an international version of the trailer, which does feature a tiny bit of new footage, and seems to focus on the relationship that lead Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) has with the father figures in his life, be it Gwen Stacy's (Emma Stone) police chief of a father (Denis Leary) or the man better known as The Lizard, Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans). You can see the trailer below. [...] |
Studio Eight Aims To Change History With Adaptation Of Jason’s ‘I Killed Adolf Hitler’ Posted: 16 Feb 2012 07:00 AM PST One popular idea when dealing with time travel is going back and killing Hitler. It seems like a given, and it has been done before. And now Studio Eight hopes to turn that very idea into a movie. It's being reported that the company has optioned the film rights to I Killed Adolf Hitler, the Norwegian graphic novel by Jason (John Arne Sæterøy) that took home an Eisner Award in 2007, and that they've brought in D.C.
