‘The Boondock Saints’ Video Game On The Way Posted: 25 Feb 2012 04:00 PM PST They've done movies and they've done comic books, so it only makes sense that our favorite high-faith hitmen, the Boondock Saints, get their own video game. Joystiq first caught wind of the game when it was revealed that cast and crew of the 1999 cult classic The Boondock Saints would be on hand at next month's South by Southwest Interactive festival to make some kind of game-related announcement. Then the banner you see above was discovered on the website of Critical Mass Interactive, with word below it that they had been awarded the rights to make a Boondock Saints game by director Troy Duffy. Watch Vintage ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ TV Spots Restored In Glorious HD Posted: 25 Feb 2012 02:00 PM PST Daren R. Dochterman, a concept and storyboard artist and production illustrator, has worked on many notable feature films from recent years, from David Fincher's breakthrough movie Seven to the 2010 sci-fi sequel Tron: Legacy. But as a visual effects artist he supervised the updating of the effects work for the 2001 Director's Edition DVD restoration of Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Most recently Dochterman has undertaken an ambitious high-definition reconstruction and restoration of the television spots from the original theatrical release of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, which he has been uploading to his YouTube channel. Comic Review: Female Force: Cher Posted: 25 Feb 2012 12:02 PM PST Female Force: Cher Written by Marc Shapiro Pencils by Zach Bassett Colors by Anthony Tan Letters & Inks by Warren Montgomery Cover by Joe Phillips Bluewater Productions Release date: January 3, 2012 Price: $3.99 (print); $1.99 (ebook) If you believe in life after love, then here's something new for you: Female Force: Cher, a new one-shot comic book from Bluewater Comics. First of all, when I opened my review copy I was like "What's Cher Force One?" not realizing that 1) that this is not, in fact, the actual name of this comic book; 2) this is not a story about superhero Cher, so she does not have any powers - no, not even the power to turn back time, and 3) this is actually a biographical story ABOUT Cher. Ok, so I've lost about 99% of you with those revelations, so for the remaining one percent (shout-out to my Cher-shirt-wearing mother-in-law, thanks for staying), here's what you can expect from Female Force: Cher [...] |
David Morrissey Cast As The Governor In ‘The Walking Dead’ Posted: 25 Feb 2012 10:00 AM PST The second season of the hit AMC series The Walking Dead is a few weeks away from wrapping up and so far, while there has been a surfeit of interpersonal conflicts with an occasional zombie attack for garnish the show has been sorely lacking in a strong central villain. Looks like that's going to change come season three. One of the biggest mysteries surrounding the show and its fidelity to the Robert Kirkman comic book series it's based on is whether or not it would introduce the comic's most notorious baddie, the one-armed, eyepatch-wearing dictator Brian Blake, better known to fans of The Walking Dead as the Governor [...] |
Comic Review: Stephen King’s and Joe Hill’s Road Rage #1 Posted: 25 Feb 2012 09:00 AM PST Stephen King's and Joe Hill's Road Rage #1 Written by Stephen King and Joe Hill Adapted by Chris Ryall Art by Nelson Daniel IDW Publishing Release Date: February 15, 2012 Cover Price: $3.99 Road Rage is a collaboration between Stephen King and his son, Joe Hill. Initially published as a novella and then audiobook in 2009, the publication compiles the collaborative story Throttle, and the short story which it pays tribute to, Duel by Richard Matheson. IDW is in the process of publishing their comic book adaptation of Road Rage, and the impact of the first issue is solid and memorable. Road Rage #1 is the first chapter of King's and Hill's Throttle. The story follows a biker gang known as the tribe, led by Vince, with a range of characters brought to life in vivid visuals. Also a member of the gang is a man called Lemmy, clearly named – and artistically designed – after the memorable frontman from Motörhead [...] |

Six more photos have emerged from the production and you can check them out here below. Much like the ones released earlier, the set pics are taken from the filming of a fight scene involving Spock (Zachary Quinto), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), and the film's still-unnamed villain played by British actor Benedict Cumberbatch. In the sixth picture, in addition to Quinto and Cumberbatch with their stunt doubles you can clearly see the IMAX camera being used to capture the action [...] |
