Posted: 09 Mar 2012 05:00 PM PST Repeaters Netflix Streaming DVD Directed by Carl Bessai Starring Dustin Milligan, Amanda Crew, Richard de Klerk, Alexia Fast, Gabrielle Rose Rampart Films Originally Released: September 13, 2010 Repeaters is an interesting indie Canadian film dealing with the subject of a time loop, delving into a science fiction realm that touches on a multitude of elements that pivot upon individual choices. Directed by Carl Bessai, the movie is entertaining, with some notable performances (particularly from Alexia Fast) – but the film suffers from the inevitable comparisons to Groundhog Day. Essentially, the plot of Repeaters focuses on three individuals: Kyle Halsted (Dustin Milligan), Sonia Logan (Amanda Crew), and Michael Weeks (Richard de Klerk). All are recovering drug addicts, remanded into custody in a rehab clinic somewhere in Canada. As they make slow progress, the young former addicts are allowed day passes – but something undefined causes the three of them to live the same day over and over again [...] |
James Cameron To Explore Deepest Part Of Ocean For ‘Deepsea Challenge’ Posted: 09 Mar 2012 03:00 PM PST When James Cameron isn't making sci-fi, horror, and action blockbusters, or movies that destroy box office records and then movies to destroy those box office records, he enjoys going on deep sea expeditions...as is a hobby for many of us. Cameron, who was named an honorary National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence in 2011, has visited Titanic and observed the aliens of the deep, but now he plans a historic expedition not yet accomplished by anyone else on our planet. [...] |

Posted: 09 Mar 2012 11:03 AM PST How to Archer The Ultimate Guide to Espionage and Style and Women and Also Cocktails Ever Written Paperback | Kindle Edition Written by Sterling Archer HarperCollins/It Books Released date: January 17, 2012 Price: $15.99 As Mel Brooks once said, "Merchandising!" You can't be a successful anything these days unless you have a t-shirt, or a CD, or a book, or a million other knick-knacks for fans of the show to buy. Which is why we can now call FX's Archer a successful show, due the release of How to Archer: The Ultimate Guide to Espionage and Style and Women and Also Cocktails Ever Written. The book is ostensibly written by series star Sterling Archer and explains how you too can become the world's greatest covert agent. Or at least how to be the second best, because no one can be a better spy than Archer [...] |
Watch Now: ‘Community’ Animated Short ‘Abed’s Master Key Part 2′ Posted: 09 Mar 2012 10:00 AM PST The second of the three Community animated shorts has been released. You can watch "Abed's Master Key Part 2" here below. Other than a couple of nice running gags involving Super Soakers and Danny Glover, I didn't get much laughs out of this cartoon. I understand that the purpose of these shorts is to help increase awareness of Community before the show returns next week, but shoddy Flash animation is hardly the way to go. Despite having the participation of the show's cast there's just not much life or even hilarity to be found here. Plus they're too damn brief; each short runs less than two minutes and that's not including the intros and outros. I would have preferred live-action webisodes with sharper writing. Maybe the final part of "Abed's Master Key" will make it all worthwhile [...] |
Watch Now: ‘John Carter’ Clip Delivers Some Zippy Action Posted: 09 Mar 2012 09:00 AM PST Disney's John Carter opens in theaters everywhere today. The studio's attempts to rectify their shockingly lackluster marketing campaign in recent months has been bold and commendable. Hopefully their efforts will not be in vain. A minute-long action scene from the film has been released and you can watch it here below. I like it. Hell I like virtually everything I see and/or hear from this movie. There's a strong sense of fun and adventure one cannot help but feel from watching this recent trailers and clips. Matched with the impressive visuals and Michael Giacchino's grandiose music score, John Carter looks to be one of the few genuine movies released this year that go beyond their massive hype [...] |
