Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a horror comic! I have long been searching for a horror comic that not only delivers a few good chills, but also maintains a fun, yet serious tone, and I have finally found it in Ragemoor!

Ragemoor #1 tells the story of a castle built 3,000 years before Christ, on the blood, sweat, and tears of Pagans, and the family, or rather, remaining member of the family, who resides in it. But when a distant Uncle comes to claim the castle for his own with dubious intent, we quickly learn that the castle has a mind of its own! [...]

Robert Rodriguez Says ‘Machete Kills’ and ‘Sin City 2′ Will Film This Year

Posted: 14 Mar 2012 02:16 PM PDT

Robert Rodriguez

Filmmaker Robert Rodriguez appeared Yesterday at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival to give updates on several of his forthcoming projects, including the formation of his own studio for producing CGI-animated feature films called Quickdraw Animation. He also announced that he will be filming sequels to two of his previous hit movies this year.

Machete Kills, which we first announced here, will go into production in April and the long-delayed Sin City 2 is expected to film later this summer. In addition to those films Rodriguez also said that his animated Heavy Metal film finally has a finished script and is moving into the storyboard phase of pre-production, along with a family feature the director is hesitant to reveal the title because it would give away the concept [...]

"We're protecting the country's greatest secrets… The problem with these secrets is many of them are wrapped in conspiracy, and nothing tickles curiosity like mystery..." – General Groves, The Manhattan Projects #1

The idea of a book about an underground government agency that knows all of the world's darkest secrets really intrigued me. I've always been a big fan of all the different UFO and government conspiracy stories and frankly still keep my eyes peeled for Big Foot anytime I'm anywhere near woods, so The Manhattan Projects #1 was seemingly written for me. Add to all that the fact that the great Jonathan Hickman is writing and it sounds like a recipe for success [...]

Interview: Rock Guitarist Michael Schenker

Michael Schenker

Michael Schenker was becoming a rock star at an age when most of us are still trying to figure out what we want to do with our lives. The German guitarist was barely into his teens when he joined his older brother Rudolf's band the Scorpions. He quickly joined British rock institution UFO before putting together his own band, the Michael Schenker Group.

He is a man of undoubted talent, but it's fair to say Schenker's reputation precedes him. He became well-known for his extreme thirst and raging egotism which proved a very bad combination for those in the same band, resulting in the odd heated exchange.

But those days are behind him now. With his latest album, Temple Of Rock slowly gathering steam, Schenker was about to hit the road. Shortly before he headed off for a world tour – including a stint in the UK – the Schenker I talked to displayed his famous eccentricity and was happy and funny [...]

As you may know if you have read any of my other Elric reviews, I am a huge fan of the Eternal Champion books and comics. This month I got to review Elric: The Balance Lost #9 and it was a real treat. A major change from the majority of the previous comics, this issue explores some of the wonders and background of the multiverse as envisioned by Michael Moorcock.

We get to explore the different planes and concepts of inter-dimensional travel as seen by our heroes on the sentient ship Spammer Gain. Focusing mainly on information, this month we are given a tutorial on the different ways to travel between the worlds and the types of people able to do so [...]

Although Vertigo Comics might have hooked me with Neil Gaiman's classic Sandman series decades ago, I've stuck around all these years because the DC imprint's line of mature comics has rarely disappointed. With gems like Brian K. Vaughan's Y: The Last Man, Grant Morrison's The Invisibles, and Bill Willingham's Fables and its spin-offs, Vertigo has proven time and again that, plain and simple, they make awesome comics, ones that eventually become classics, embedded in our pop culture.

With Saucer Country, a new series created by writer Paul Cornell and artist Ryan Kelly, it looks like Vertigo has another winner on their hands [...]
