The Walking Dead: Michonne revealed

If you watched the Season 2 finale of AMC's The Walking Dead tonight, then you saw a mysterious hooded figure appear near the end of the episode. Fans of the Robert Kirkman comic book series most likely knew right away which character this was, but Kirkman himself confirmed on a special post-finale live episode of AMC's The Talking Dead that the hooded figure is Michonne.

Kirkman then revealed (and AMC soon after sent out an official statement) that actress Danai Gurira (Treme/The Visitor) played Michonne in the episode and will return as the character in Season 3 [...]

WonderCon

Even on a Sunday the floor of this year's WonderCon at the Anaheim Convention Center is abuzz. Dominating the landscape of the exhibition hall are the booths of comic publishers DC, IDW, and Archaia.

But, quite possibly the best booth at the Con so far is the one for HBO's Game of Thrones television series. Fans of the show can have a gruesome photo taken with their head digitally impaled on a spike. The photos feature the iconic and apt phrase from Game of Thrones, "The King Can Do As He Likes."

At the DC booth, the massive publisher showcased the latest in DC Direct figures from the upcoming Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. Among the figures were Bane, Batman, and Catwoman in her full costume. In addition, DC looks to be teaming up with New Era to produce Batman vs Bane hats -- the hats feature the dark knight and bane slugging it out in the streets of Gotham [...]

WonderCon 2012: ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’

Posted: 18 Mar 2012 11:50 AM PDT

Amazing Spider-Man

The Amazing Spider-Man panel was by far one of the most anticipated panels for WonderCon 2012. Though the panel lacked lead actor Andrew Garfield or any big reveals, a several minute long trailer gave some deep insight into the film's emotional elements.

At a glance the film looks to be dealing with Peter as a young man who has lost his parents and the emotional repercussions of such an event. That is not to say the trailer did not have some incredible action choreography laced throughout. Of note were a few never before seen scenes of Peter training in what looked like an abandoned warehouse, with his newfound powers. Most of the new scenes involved Spider-Man swinging through city streets and one scene in which Spider-Man taunts a would be car thief. The trailer (description below) encompassed everything that is Spider-Man [...]

Looper

Director Rian Johnson opened up the Looper panel today at WonderCon 2012 by explaining that it's a time-travel action movie that he had conceptualized as far back as when he directed Brick.

Loopers are hit men hired by future-dwelling organized crime members who are able to send their targets back into the past, where the loopers shoot them and dispose of them back in time. Joseph Gordon-Levitt 's character is a looper who is surprised when he discovers his latest target is his future self. He stars in the film along with Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels, and Piper Perabo. At the heart of it is the question, "What would you do if you sat across the table from your older self?"
