Movie Review: Wrath of the Titans Posted: 12 Apr 2012 04:00 PM PDT Wrath of the Titans Directed by Jonathan Liebesman Starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Rosamund Pike, Edgar Ramirez, Danny Huston, John Bell Release Date: March 30, 2012 The anything but miraculous dexterity of director Jonathan Liebesman is once again extravagantly displayed to audiences undeserving of such a treat. We are once again pummeled by his explicitly maddening style of direction that is beyond intolerable and which has no sense of coherency. His Battle Los Angeles (one of the worst films of last year) is an absolute frenzy of wrath and an obnoxiously chaotic mess of a movie. Wrath of the Titans, his newest example of immeasurably poor filmmaking, is assembled in an all too similar way, frequently engaging audiences in unbridled foolishness on its way to engrossing an enormous income at the expense of its audiences [...] |

Comic Review: Space Time Condominium: Season One Posted: 12 Apr 2012 02:00 PM PDT Space Time Condominium: Season One Written and Art by Dave Dwonch Action Lab Comics Release Date: February, 2012 Cover Price: $14.95 Space Time Condominium starts with the premise of a man living with different versions of himself from across the multiverse and the story spins wildly out of control from there. It's a webcomic written and illustrated by Dave Dwonch, with a new print version published by Action Age Comics. It is SO GOOD in so many ways, but misses the mark a few times. So, the story goes like this: A crisis is destroying the multiverse as a scientist named The Gate Keeper flees his timeline, that's about to be destroyed, with a mysterious plan that involves gathering 5 different versions of a man named Griffen Griffens, builds a condo in a tiny pocket universe unaffected by the crisis, and have them all live together. Whew, what a sentence. Oh, and it's a comedy! [...] |

Check Out The First Poster For Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ Posted: 12 Apr 2012 11:00 AM PDT Quentin Tarantino's upcoming "southern" Django Unchained won't be hitting theaters until Christmas, but in the meantime the Weinstein Company and Columbia Pictures have released the film's first poster. You can check it out here below. No cruddy Photoshop hack work here folks, this is the real deal. Tarantino has spoken many times in the past about his unabashed love for Italian spaghetti westerns and how they have influenced his own style of filmmaking. Several of his recent films, including Kill Bill V.2 and Inglourious Basterds, have worn that influence with pride. Tarantino has even used music score cues composed for the best Italian westerns by the great Ennio Morricone on the soundtracks of some of his past features. Thus, it's very fitting that the poster for Django Unchained would recall the minimalist movie poster style of the 1960's when directors like Sergio Leone, Sergio Corbucci, and Enzo G. Castellari were revered as cinematic gods to western fans and young movie geeks like Tarantino who were just itching for the sweaty, bloody thrills they a spaghetti western could deliver without fail [...] |

David Gordon Green’s Remake Of The Horror Classic ‘Suspiria’ Going Forward Posted: 12 Apr 2012 08:00 AM PDT Of all the filmmakers whose body of work I admire David Gordon Green has had the the strangest career trajectory. The Arkansas-born director started out making small scale indie dramas like George Washington, All the Real Girls, and Undertow. Then in 2008 he scored his first bonafide smash hit with the stoner action comedy (and personal fave of yours truly) Pineapple Express. The next year he began directing episodes of the brilliant HBO comedy series Eastbound & Down). In 2011 Green's directing career took a major hit when his two forgettable studio comedies Your Highness and The Sitter came out and landed with thuds at the box office. Now the talented filmmaker is returning to a project has been attached to for several years but until now has not been able to locate the financing for. Green's proposed remake of the 1977 Italian horror classic Suspiria, which first went into development in 2008 and was once mooted to star future Oscar-winner Natalie Portman, is back on track after securing the participation of Crime Scene Pictures, which will finance and produce the film with producers Francesco Melzi d'Eril and Luca Guadagnino. Green will direct from a script he co-wrote with Chris Gebert, a sound mixer and editor on all of his films making his writing debut [...] |
Check Out Every Jump Of The General Lee From ‘The Dukes Of Hazzard’ Seasons 1-6 Posted: 12 Apr 2012 07:00 AM PDT Here's a pretty cool compilation for all you sons and daughters of baby boomers who were their kids in the late 1970s and early 1980s! If you were a hair above a little tyke back then who used to stay home on Friday nights like I did when I was just turning the corner into my teenage hood, then it's a sure bet you couldn't wait for the latest episode of The Dukes of Hazzard, the hit CBS show that took the adventures and escapades of two "good ol' boys" and brought them into the homes of millions. A person by the name of Treva Graham has made a compilation of every jump of the "The General Lee" during Seasons 1 through 6. The famous vehicle, a 1969 Dodge Charger, was like its own character on the program, which originally ran on the air from 1979 to 1985. Check out the video here below [...] |
