‘Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride’ Will Crash Into a Theater Near You Posted: 17 Apr 2012 06:02 PM PDT The Disney theme parks have a large catalog of rides and attractions to see, and with the success of four Pirates of the Caribbean movies, it only seems right to go down that catalog and find the next theme-parked based movie. If you want to know what ride is being adapted into a movie, then buckle up, because you are going to be in for one wild ride. Currently the Haunted Mansion reboot, Jungle Cruise, Matterhorn, and Magic Kingdom park feature films are in the works and now you can add another iconic Disneyland ride to the list. According to Deadline, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride will now be adapted for the big screen and is set to be directed by commercial and music video director Pete Candeland [...] |
DreamWorks In Negotiations For ‘Need For Speed’ Movie Posted: 17 Apr 2012 05:00 PM PDT There's plenty of video games that would make perfect sense to turn into a movie. Sometimes, on the other hand, you have to scratch your head at the thought of a certain game getting the cinematic treatment. It's being reported that DreamWorks is in negotiations to acquire Need For Speed, a movie based on the hit Electronic Arts racing game series being developed by brothers John Gatins and George Gatins. George is writing the first draft of the screenplay for the movie. [...] |

Unlock Michael Fassbender’s Emotions In The New Viral Video For ‘Prometheus’ Posted: 17 Apr 2012 03:00 PM PDT Oh how excited I would be if Fox generously put a David-8 android on my doorstep. Earlier today we posted an article about the latest product from Weyland Industries, which is actually one of the key elements in the Prometheus viral marketing campaign. The video detailed all the aspects of what the David-8 was programmed and designed for, and now a new video has surfaced detailing the emotions of the android (to be played by Michael Fassbender). Hit the jump if you want to know more details about the fascination robot. As stated in the earlier video, Weyland Industries' David-8 lack the ability to express any human emotion and are programmed to perform the tasks that humans deem questionable and unethical. But a new video has the ability to unlock those emotions that were otherwise considered unlockable. In the gallery here below are four of my favorite emotions [...] |
Comic Review: 3 Story: The Secret Files of the Giant Man Posted: 17 Apr 2012 02:00 PM PDT 3 Story: The Secret Files of the Giant Man Story & Art by Matt Kindt Digital Production by Clay Janes Design by Matt Kindt with David Nestelle Dark Horse Comics Release Date: April 18, 2012 Cover Price: $3.50 Dark Horse's graphic novel 3 Story: The Secret History of the Giant Man explores the life of Craig Pressgang, an American born during the Second World War who suffers from gigantism, grows to be three stories tall, and finds a place for himself as a U.S. government spokesperson. The book itself is told from the perspective of the three most important women in his life, his mother, wife and daughter, as he grows from a period of optimism to alienation and isolation for being so unique. It's often said that the book, written by Matt Kindt, is a sprawling metaphor for the American spirit since the 1940s. This isn't that book. This book is a bit ...ahem... shorter in stature [...] |
This Flowchart Will Help You Figure Out How Long You’d Survive In A Horror Movie Posted: 17 Apr 2012 01:00 PM PDT Do you like scary movies? Ever watch them and wonder how long you'd survive in one of those horror movie scenarios? Well, the folks over at College Humor have created a flowchart that'll help you figure that out. Check it out the "How Long Would You Survive in a Horror Movie?" flowchart here below. I don't know about you, but I always think either I'd be one of the survivors -- no, not for my superior survival skills, as I have zero, but rather because I'd be the first one to get the hell out as soon as I heard a bump or saw a ghost or if someone opened the cellar door, etc. (yes, I'm a chicken like that) OR I'd be the first one dead -- hell, there doesn't even need to be a killer on the loose, just put this city girl in the woods for the weekend [...] |
Columbia Looking At Julianne Moore To Play Mother In ‘Carrie’ Remake Posted: 17 Apr 2012 12:00 PM PDT A remake of the 1976 Stephen King adaptation, Carrie, has been in the works for a bit now, and a star is already in place with Kick-Ass and Let Me In star Chloe Moretz set for the lead role. Equally important will be the casting of Carrie's mother, whom it appears Columbia Pictures is looking to cast next. According to sources, the studio is "speaking closely" with four-time Academy Award nominee Julianne Moore for the role. [...] |
Video: Tupac’s Ghost Performs At Coachella Music Festival Posted: 17 Apr 2012 11:00 AM PDT Tupac died 15 years ago, but through the magic of Pepper's Ghost, the crowd at last weekend's Coachella music festival in California got a chance to be simultaneously thrilled and weirded out by a rapping, walking, and talking Tupac, who "took" the stage with his former running mate Snoop Dogg, aka Snoop D-O Double Gizzle. Below is a probably NSFW [language] video of the performance, and honestly, it does sorta trick you into thinking Tupac is actually there. Snoop plays his part in the ruse, ably rapping alongside his slain friend, though I'm sure that, thanks to the marijuana, Snoop has rapped with ghosts before [...] |
London 2012 Organizers Wanted [The Late] Keith Moon To Perform At Olympics Posted: 17 Apr 2012 10:00 AM PDT Even though he's been dead for 34 years, Keith Moon, the eccentric, devil-may-care wild man known as "Moon the Loon" who drummed for the famous British rock band The Who during their glory years, still makes news on par with his crazy persona. The UK website The Guardian is reporting that organizers for the 2012 Olympics wanted Moon to play at the opening ceremony in London, where the games are to be held this Summer. Unbelievably, especially in this information age we live in, nobody in those circles knew that Moon had died of a sedative overdose back in 1978. The Who's current manager, Bill Curbishley, told the Sunday Times in London that he was approached to see if Moon would be "available" to perform with the surviving members of The Who [...] |
New ‘Prometheus’ Viral Video Introduces Us To Michael Fassbender’s David 8 Posted: 17 Apr 2012 09:06 AM PDT While I was sitting in the theater watching Cabin In The Woods this weekend I was galvanized in my belief that knowing as little as possible about the actual events of a film before you see it makes for a much more enjoyable and organic entertainment experience. Trailers ruin movies for people every goddamn day. Before you even purchase your ticket, the chance that you've likely already seen every key scene, explosion, death, punchline, and catch-phrase is pretty high. But this new viral video for Prometheus -- this is how you promote a film without giving away the freakin' beginning, ending, and everything in between. Watch the video here after the jump [...] |
1997′s ‘Titanic’ Breaks China’s Best Opening Record, Passes $2 Billion All-Time Posted: 17 Apr 2012 08:01 AM PDT Director James Cameron's mega hit Titanic was released 15 years ago now, but it's not done being a box office force. The movie---which would go on to win Best Picture and hold the all-time domestic box office record at $600 million for a long, long time...until Cameron's Avatar came along, of course---was recently re-released in 3D, and is dumping plenty more coin into the pockets of those who made it.
