At the moment there are no details as to the cause of his death, but we will keep you updated as we get information. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Lynch was born on February 12, 1936, as one of seven children in his family. Beginning in 1958 Lynch served in the United States Marine Corps for four years, ending his military career at the rank of Corporal. He became a lifetime member of the prestigious Actors Studio in 1970 and had appeared in many stage productions on and off Broadway, including William Shakespeare's Richard III and Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge. Lynch made his feature acting debut in 1973's Scarecrow alongside Gene Hackman and Al Pacino. Throughout the 1970's the actor built up his resume with appearances in films like The Seven-Ups, The Happy Hooker, God Told Me To, and Deathsport and television shows such as Starsky and Hutch, Battlestar Galactica, and Buck Rogers [...] |

Comic Review: Manara Erotica, Volume 1 Posted: 19 Jun 2012 06:00 PM PDT Manara Erotica, Volume 1 Written by Milo Manara Illustrated by Milo Manara Dark Horse Comics Release Date: May 9, 2012 Cover Price: $59.99 Anyone can draw dirty pictures. It takes a true artist to raise smut to an art form, to the level of "erotica." Italian comic artist Milo Manara is such an artist. Born out of the illustrator-led seminal graphic novel movement of the seventies (whose most notable output includes Métal Hurlant (published as Heavy Metal in the U.S.), Milo Manara's first dedicated foray into erotica came in the form of a 1982 comic for Playmen magazine (Italy's answer to Playboy). That comic, Click, included in Dark Horse's first collection of his erotic work, would define his career [...] |
‘The Master’ Trailer: Joaquin Phoenix Has Wandered From The Path Posted: 19 Jun 2012 05:00 PM PDT The last trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master centered on a wayward soldier Freddie Sutton (played by Joaquin Phoenix) being interrogated by a superior officer. This was a set up that would lead Phoenix to become a second-in-command to a religion recreated by Lancaster Dodd (Philip Seymour Hoffman). Now, a new trailer has popped up online that vaguely traces those events that lead up to the two crossing paths. You can watch the new trailer below. Once again, Phoenix delivers a chilling performance as a man who was once lost finding his path via Dodd's new faith based organization. The trailer gives somewhat equal time to both Hoffman and Phoenix. We see the two have a tense conversation. We even get to see an exchange between Mary Sue (Amy Adams) and Sutton [...] |

‘Attack the Block’ Director Joe Cornish To Helm Adaptation Of ‘Snow Crash’ Posted: 19 Jun 2012 03:15 PM PDT Attack the Block was the stellar indie hit that put director Joe Cornish on the map. The innovative action sci-fi comedy featured a cast of unknowns fighting what appeared to be an invading alien force. Now Cornish is confirmed to write and direct an adaptation of Neal Stepenson's Snow Crash over at Paramount. Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will produce. Stephenson's novel centers on a futuristic world controlled by a corrupt corporation, where a deadly computer virus runs rampant and the only person who can stop it is a samurai/hacker/pizza delivery man named Hiro Protagonist [...] |
Jennifer Connelly Officially In Talks To Join Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’ Posted: 19 Jun 2012 02:30 PM PDT Once Darren Aronofsky's Noah was greenlit, talks of who could be cast as Noah, his wife, and the villain began. Russell Crowe was attached and eventually signed on to play as the titular character. Liam Neeson was in talks to play as the villain, as was Liev Schreiber, and most recently Ray Winstone. But as to who could play Noah's wife, the choice doesn't come off as a complete surprise. Jennifer Connelly was rumored to be in talks to play as Noah's wife for a long time. Connelly has been in Aronofsky's Requiem for a Dream and starred alongside Crowe as his wife in Ron Howard's A Beautiful Mind, so she has experience with working with the two. Many of the previous reports went with the fact that she was in talks, considering she was one of the choices to play Noah's wife. The other one being Julianne Moore [...] |
Posted: 19 Jun 2012 02:00 PM PDT Mars Attacks #1 Story & Lettered by John Layman Art by John McCrea Colored by Andrew Eder Editor: Denton J. Tipton Covers 1-55 by Norman Saunders Retail Exclusive Cover by John McCrea Retail Exclusive Cover Colored by Andrew Elder San Diego Comicon Exclusive Cover by Matt Frank Box Set Cover art by Zina Saunders IDW Publishing Release Date: June 20, 2012 Cover Price: $3.99 Mars Attacks #1 was a very different sort of animal. Sure, you can guess by the title that there are creatures from the planet Mars and that they're attacking, but beyond that, it's really not like what you'd expect at all. John Layman takes the old Mars Attacks formula and turns it a little bit askew from what we're used to. And it works like a charm!! I know you're sick of my saying this, but I try to NEVER give away spoilers, but this story is told from an unusual point of view. There's also an unusual narrative within the book, one that makes you want the LAST issue (or close to it) to get here as quickly as possible [...] |
Book Review: Wilko Johnson – Looking Back At Me Posted: 19 Jun 2012 12:30 PM PDT Looking Back At Me Hardcover By Wilko Johnson with Zoe Howe Cadiz Release date: May 30, 2012 (UK) Musician, actor, amateur astronomer: Wilko Johnson is many things but one thing that he certainly is not is boring. Alongside author Zoe Howe, Johnson's life is laid out in typically hilarious honesty in his autobiography, Looking Back At Me. As befits a man of Johnson's hectic life and mind, this is not a straight forward autobiography. Each page is packed with photos of his life and possessions in a beautiful coffee-table book. Each short, detailed chapter is brimming with Johnson's enlightening personality. For over 30 years he has been best known as the wild-eyed guitarist for English rock and blues band Dr. Feelgood, but a couple of years ago his popularity skyrocketed when he was cast as the King's mute executioner, Ser Ilyn Payne, in the phenomenally successful TV show Game Of Thrones [...] |
Summit Says ‘The Twilight Saga’ Will Not Be Rebooted Posted: 19 Jun 2012 11:45 AM PDT A while back when Lionsgate acquired Summit Entertainment, it was revealed in completely unsurprising fashion that a reboot of their mega-hit Twilight Saga franchise was a very real possibility. Everyone else seems to be insta-booting their blockbuster-caliber properties---after successful and unsuccessful attempts alike---so it makes plenty of sense for Lionsgate to want to keep milking as much money out of Twilight as they can. Hans Zimmer Composing The Score For Zack Snyder’s ‘Man of Steel’ Posted: 19 Jun 2012 11:00 AM PDT Hans Zimmer is one of those magnificent composers that any director would like to have working on the score of their film. The thing about Zimmer is that he makes distinct and significant work for each of the projects he is assigned to and its because of his method of work, that you can really tell one of his soundtracks from the others. So in a move that is sure to get everyone excited, Zimmer has been hired to compose the soundtrack for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. Zimmer is recognized for many soundtracks, but this isn't the first time he's composed a score for a superhero film [...] |
Posted: 19 Jun 2012 10:34 AM PDT Forgetless Written by Nick Spencer Cover by W. Scott Forbes Art by W. Scott Forbes, Marley Zarcone, Jorge Coelho Colors by W. Scott Forbes, Eric Skillman, Marley Zarcone Letters by Johnny Lowe Image Comics Release Date: May 09, 2012 Cover Price: $14.99 At first I was nervous to jump into Forgetless, the new trade paperback from Nick Spencer, of Morning Glories fame, about a New York City dance party that he has said in interviews is openly influenced by the films Go! and Igby Goes Down. On the one hand I'm a big fan of his work on Morning Glories, and on the other hand I really hated those movies. What I ended up with was an interesting comic about uncompelling New Yorkers which, if you stick with it, has a surprisingly rewarding ending. |
First Look At Angelina Jolie As ‘Maleficent’ Posted: 19 Jun 2012 10:00 AM PDT Production for the long gestating Maleficent started less than a week ago, and now we are getting a first look at Angelina Jolie as the titular character. Click on the image below for a large view. Jolie was the perfect fit to play the villainess; her long, slender, and sexy look would provide a fresh take on the classic character. According to Disney, "This is the untold story of Disney's most beloved villain, Maleficent, from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty. The film reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora." [...] |
New ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Trailer Gets Angry Posted: 19 Jun 2012 09:00 AM PDT Christopher Nolan has said that The Dark Knight Rises was his third and final entry in his Batman franchise. If that is indeed true, then he intends to end it on one epic high note. A new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises has popped up online, and it features bits of footage never seen before. We also get to hear a bit more dialogue from Bane (Tom Hardy), and the whole thing ends with a scene that provides some of the lighter moments of the film. Check out the trailer below. Unlike previous trailers that set up the story, the newest trailer for The Dark Knight Rises puts an emphasis on the action sequences. Since there isn't that much new footage, its something that hard to get excited for. But that hasn't changed the fact that fans (especially myself) are eagerly awaiting the film's release [...] |
