Mia Wasikowski and Zoe Aggeliki Vying For Role In ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’

Mia Wasikowska and Zoe Aggeliki

We are a little over a month away from the start of production of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The second entry in the famed Suzanne Collins novel will be taking a new direction with Francis Lawrence replacing original helmer Gary Ross for the big-screen adaptation. But as we get closer to the start date, we have yet to hear of any additions to the cast.

We recently heard that Philip Seymour Hoffman was among the frontrunners to be cast as Plutarch Heavensbee. But this report isn't a follow up on that; instead, we are hearing of two names that may be vying for a role in the film [...]

Netflix Review: The Human Centipede 2 – Full Sequence

The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence
Netflix Streaming
DVD | Blu-Ray
Written and Directed by Tom Six
Starring Laurence R. Harvey, Ashlynn Yennie, Maddi Black
IFC Midnight
Originally Released: September 22, 2011

Are we really not only making movies about eating shit, but making sequels to them now?

The Human Centipede 2 is not only a difficult film to watch; it's disgusting and it's messy. Where the first movie is cold, deliberate, clinical, and in full color; the sequel is static, filthy, filmed in black-and-white, and firmly lacking in the antiseptic of the first (quite literally). As with the initial movie, there's not much about this horror movie to 'scare' you, but much of it to shock and disgust you. Tom Six delivers his promise that this sequel makes the original look like My Little Pony; but there is a cost to this, as elements of social commentary and deeper symbolism is sacrificed by the obsession of being able disturb you and shock you.

Disney In Depth: Tron: Uprising Review

Tron: Uprising, an arrestingly-captivating new animated original series on the Disney XD channel, brings viewers back into the grid with the dynamic visuals, electrifying music and gripping storytelling that rekindled audiences with digital dazzle in Tron: Legacy.

Set between the original Tron and Tron: Legacy, Tron: Uprising focuses on mechanic-turned-renegade Beck (voiced by Elijah Wood), a deft programmer living in the stunning Argon City. Beck's free-thinking society is soon threatened by the menacing General Tesler (Lance Henriksen), one of the evil CLU's cohorts, who aims to take charge of the metropolis. Once his friend is "derezzed," or the Tron version of someone being killed, Beck avenges his death by disguising himself as believed-to-be-dead hero Tron and inspiring a revolution. In the intense prologue special, "Beck's Beginning," we see this as almost an origins story, provided with heavy exposition to better understand the characters and storyline [...]

Now that the filmmaker has completed principal photography with his $20 million passion project, he will be getting back to work with Transformers 4. The film won't [...]

Charlie Sheen & Robert Rodriguez

If the addition of a one Mel Gibson was intriguing enough for you, director Robert Rodriguez has announced that he has also cast tabloid magnet Charlie Sheen in his upcoming sequel, Machete Kills.

Rodriguez made the announcement via the Twitter, where he also revealed that Sheen would actually be playing the President of the United States of America (which feels strangely fitting, no?). [...]

November 22nd, 1995. Aside from it being my sister's 23rd birthday, it's also the theatrical release date of Pixar's first feature film, Toy Story. I was 10 years, 11 months and 18 days old, the perfect age (approximately) for your typical adolescent boy to be super-excited about an all-CGI film.

The thing is, I wasn't really a normal kid. As a chubby, four-eyed fourth grader, I was wearing Aliens t-shirts and watching Terminator 2: Judgment Day and RoboCop on VHS while other kids sang along to "Under the Sea" or "A Whole New World."

Walt Disney classics like The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and The Lion King didn't interest me. I was too busy tugging at my mom's shirt, begging her to rent Alien 3 from the local video store - which she did, only if I promised not to repeat any of the bad words I heard. She still ended up fast-forwarding through the gory moments, but by God no cartoon could ever compare [...]
