Check Out These Photos From The New ‘Toy Story’ Short ‘Partysaurus Rex’ Posted: 09 Aug 2012 06:19 PM PDT Rex, the Tyrannosaurus Rex from the Toy Story films, is a misunderstood dinosaur. Although he is in the form of a terrifying tyrannosaurus rex, the toy is hilariously skiddish and has a heart of gold. But after taking a back seat for so long, Rex is finally getting a short of his own. Check out the image preview here below of this short, titled Partysaurus Rex, which will be attached to the Finding Nemo 3D re-release. Here's what Partysaurus Rex director Mark Walsh (animator for previous Pixar films like Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille) told Entertainment Weekly: "If you're a bath toy you get really intense playtime. It's like a party. Then when the water goes down you can't move. You're helpless. And that's pathetic, these guys in bottom of the tub all the time." [...] |
Disney In Depth: 23 Fun Facts From ‘Disney Trivia from the Vault’ Posted: 09 Aug 2012 05:11 PM PDT We Disney aficionados simply cannot obtain enough neat tidbits of trivia, seeking answers to everyday quandaries that strike us. Fortunately, Disney Editions just released a fine trivia book that puts many questions to rest. Dave Smith, Chief Archivist Emeritus of the Walt Disney Archives, has long been known to help fans with this endeavor in his legendary "Ask Dave" column. Now, Smith, author of this fact-filled title Disney Trivia from the Vault: Secrets Revealed and Questions Answered, has compiled together over 1,000 questions, providing responses and well-explained descriptions as well. In this edition of Disney In Depth, I'll impart my thoughts on this book, and also share some of the more unique questions and answers that you can find inside Disney Trivia from the Vault. I'll give you 23 fun facts. Why 23? If you're a Disney fan you should know the reason. (1923 is the year the company was founded). At just over 250 pages, this eight-chapter book, each dedicated to a different aspect of The Walt Disney Company, contains a vast variety of little-known pieces of trivia that you can bring up at social events. Well, I'm not sure how relevant bringing up the "Kids Amateur Dog Show" at Disneyland from the 1960s would be, but would you know about that had you not picked up a copy of this? I don't think so. The allure of trivia books is that they contain such oddball details, each with fascinating and extensive stories, making this a treasure trove [...] |
Awesome Character Posters & Banner For ‘Skyfall’ Posted: 09 Aug 2012 03:44 PM PDT There are a set of new character posters and a new banner for the upcoming James Bond flick Skyfall. This sleek new poster doesn't feature any floating heads or crazy photoshop skills at work; instead we have our four characters: Daniel Craig as James Bond, Bérénice Marlohe as Sévérine, Javier Bardem as, and Naomie Harris as Eve, standing side-by-side. Of course there's also the traditional character posters as well. Feel free to check them out below. I think there's something about a blond Javier Bardem that really intrigues me. Plus he looks like he is having a blast playing as the Bond villain [...] |

‘Red Dawn’ Poster: Introducing The New Generation Of Wolverines Posted: 09 Aug 2012 01:00 PM PDT What a difference a couple of years make. After sitting on a shelf for the better part of two years, the remake of Red Dawn hits theaters this Thanksgiving. The film features a new generation of American's youth defending their land against the forces of the North Koreans. Originally the film's antagonists were the Chinese, but the film was digitally altered so that the antagonists would be North Koreans. We previously posted two new images from the film, and now we got our first look at the poster for Red Dawn, which looks like one of the options you would see on an instagram photo. Check it out below. As you can see, MGM and Open Road are slowly pushing out the promotional material for the film. With this poster, this brings out print promotions to a grand total of four (the header image above, the two images, and now this poster). So if you are tired of photos and are just itching to see a trailer for the film, then you're in luck, because the first trailer for the Red Dawn remake premieres tomorrow [...] |
Watch Now: The ‘Bourne’ Franchise Gets Its Disco On In ‘Bourne To Be Alive’ Posted: 09 Aug 2012 12:00 PM PDT What do you get when you combine the action franchise spawned from the best-selling spy thrillers of the late Robert Ludlum that has become one of the most influential movie series of the past 25 years and the smokin' funky grooves of late 1970's disco? Bourne To Be Alive, that's what. This video mashes up scenes from all three of the original Jason Bourne adventures - The Bourne Identity (2002), The Bourne Supremacy (2004), and The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) - and scenes from the trailers for the forthcoming semi-sequel/franchise reboot The Bourne Legacy with the 1979 dance floor classic "Born to Be Alive" by Patrick Hernadez. You can watch the video here below [...] |
Comic Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Micro Series, Volume 1 Posted: 09 Aug 2012 11:00 AM PDT Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Micro Series, Volume 1 Written by Brian Lynch Art by Franco Urru, Andy Kuhn, Valerio Schiti, Ross Campbell IDW Publishing Release Date June 26, 2012 Cover Price: $17.99 I'm enjoying the heck out of IDW's new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, but I didn't pick up the TMNT Micro Series when the issues came out, which turns out to have been kind of a mistake. If you're reading the main series at least half of the issues in this collection are of some import to the main series as they introduce elements that are fairly important. The other half are stories that haven't tied in directly to the main series (yet), but are still fun. There are four issues in this collection, each issue focusing on one of the main Turtles, and if I have to explain who the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are, you may have been asleep for the last quarter century and you probably have more important things to catch up on. Raphael goes out on patrol with Casey Jones and runs into a new mutant who may be part of a bigger threat. Michelangelo goes out on the town and spends New Year's Eve at a party, until he gets caught up in a diamond heist. Donatello goes to a technology convention and makes a new friend who is kind of a jerk. And Leonardo goes out to kick some ass [...] |
Amazing DIY ‘Diablo III’ Azmodan Sculpture Posted: 09 Aug 2012 10:00 AM PDT Jason Babler, one of the art directors for Diablo 3: The Book Of Cain has taken his passion and hobby and combined them, making his own custom sculpture of Azmodan from the Diablo III universe. His sculpture is just breathtaking. The sculpture stands at an impressive 17 inches tall and the base for the 'Lord of Sin' is 2 feet across. The detail on this piece is absurd - from the multiple texture types to the in-depth coloring and shading of Azmodan himself. Even his his mouth, eyes and magical orb all light up courtesy of miniature LEDs. Check out the full image after the jump [...] |
Posted: 09 Aug 2012 09:00 AM PDT KISS #3 Written by Tom Waltz Art by Casey Maloney Inks by Marc Rueda Colors by Joan I. Guardiet Letters by Shawn Lee Edited by Chris Ryall Covers by Casey Maloney, Xermanico & Michael Gaydos IDW Publishing Release Date: August 8, 2012 Cover Price: $3.99 KISS #3 is another AMAZING issue from the folks at IDW!!! The great thing about this book is that it's a different title almost every month. You're not sure where you're going to end up when you pick up an issue. This issue is fantastic for a number of reasons, but most of all, because it's a total 180 from the first two issues. Tom Waltz get handed the reins for this arc, and first off let me say, if you're not reading his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles title, you're really missing out. That aside, his inaugural issue of KISS brings a totally different vibe than the first two issues, and that's one of the great things. The other great things -- KISS BARBARIANS!!! [...] |

Now comes word that another nostalgic favorite, this time of the live-action variety, will be getting the CGI/live-action treatment. It's being reported that Jordan Kerner, producer of The Smurfs adaptation, is now working on a new movie based on the hit TV series ALF. [...] |
