Original Voice Of Agent 47 David Bateson Confirmed For ‘Hitman: Absolution’

Hitman Agent 47 Image

For some reason earlier in production, developer IO Interactive had decided that they were not going to use actor David Bateson to voice the role of Agent 47 in the upcoming fifth game in the franchise, Hitman: Absolution. Bateson had voiced the main character since the series' first game back in 2000.

Now comes word that, after a lengthy search for a new voice actor, that developer IO Interactive has ultimately decided to go back to Bateson for the job. In addition to Bateson, William Mapother (LOST) has handled the motion capture performance of 47. [...]

Elizabeth Banks & Morgan Freeman Lend Their Voices For ‘Lego: The Piece Of Resistance’

Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman To Voice Characters in Lego Movie

At first I thought a Lego movie would literally fall apart into multicolored pieces. The idea of a film centered on the connective building blocks sounded like a bad one.

Then 21 Jump Street helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller were brought in to direct and it was revealed that title would be Lego: The Piece of Resistance, and that Channing Tatum and Will Arnett will voice Batman and Superman, two supporting characters who will appear in the film. [...]

Fans of Marvel Studios' superhero ensemble film, The Avengers, can soon own the Blu-ray and DVD when it hits store shelves in late September. We've already seen one hilarious gag reel showing the light heartedness of the film, but the following clip that Marvel has released is the polar opposite of that, and it shows the movie could have had a very different opening.

Check it out below. [...]

Universal Hires Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci To Produce ‘Dragonology’

Dragonology Header

Often associated with writing sci-fi material, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have recently evolved into producers and directors. But they still take a dip into writing scripts here and there.

Now it's being reported that Kurtzman and Orci will be producing the long-gestating Dragonology, a fantasy-based film for Universal.

The film is based on a series of 12 children's books that are presented as faux fiction. So we could be seeing this film from a first-person point of view, which seems like an obvious choice to present the film since video recording technology wasn't available during medieval times. [...]

Premium Rush Poster

Premium Rush
Directed by: David Koepp
Written by: David Koepp, John Kamps
Starring: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Shannon, Jamie Chung, Dania Ramirez
Columbia Pictures
PG-13 | 91 Minutes
Release Date: August 24, 2012

"I like to ride. Fixed gear. No brakes. Can't stop. Don't want to, either."

Directed by David Koepp (Ghost Town) and written by Koepp and John Kamps (Zathura: A Space Adventure), Premium Rush stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Wilee, a New York City bike messenger who picks up a mysterious envelope from Columbia University.

Detective Robert Monday (Michael Shannon) is a dirty copy with serious impulse control issues, who's desperate to get his hands on the envelope. Chasing Wilee and his fellow bike couriers Vanessa (Dania Ramirez) and Manny (Wolé Parks) through the streets of New York, Monday must get the envelope before it reaches its intended destination.

"Breaks are death!" To his fellow bicycle enthusiasts, Wilee comes off as a bit of a radical - a former stunt performer on a suicide mission. His fixed-gear bike cannot coast, because the pedals are always moving. Keopp's film operates similarly, running at one-speed with no brakes until its conclusion [...]

Michael Fassbender

Lynne Ramsay may not be a household name, but you may have heard of the very dark film called We Need To Talk About Kevin. Now Ramsay is ready to follow that up with Jane's Got A Gun, and she already has Natalie Portman signed on to play the lead. The film centers on a wife who must protect her farm from a gang after her husband stumbles into her home injured with multiple gunshot wounds. She hopes to get some help by recruiting her former lover.

Now it's being reported that Michael Fassbender is in talks to play that former lover. This sounds like it has the potential to be a very good western flick. The script originated from the 2011 Black List and was written by Brian Duffields. [...]

Release Date: August 29, 2012
Cover Price: $5.95

The Ancient Oak is a charming little graphic novel for all ages. I read this to my 8-year-old daughter and she loved it, definitely picking up on the moral of the story. Not to worry, though. This isn't a preachy little book. Quite the opposite, it is a fun read with a point to be made.

I loved the tale and all of it's Eco-friendliness. Centered around a young Princess, the story starts with her father, the King, cutting down a forest at record speed. Even after a warning, he continues until it seems he has destroyed the local climate. Luckily, the young Princess isn't afraid to try to repair the damage. In the process, she learns a valuable lesson about doing her part to help nature [...]

Asylum of the Daleks begins with [WARNING: some minor spoilers ahead!] the Doctor being reunited with companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams (Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill respectively), who are dealing with some of their own real-life dilemmas. As the Doctor sweeps them into time and space again, they are captured by the Dalek Parliament, who demand that the Predator of the Daleks aka The Doctor (we assume so) is sent into the Asylum of the Daleks to destroy those therein [...]

Remembering The Late, Amazing Illustrator Jack Kirby On His Birthday

Posted: 28 Aug 2012 08:01 AM PDT

Jack Kirby Collage

Today marks the birthday of one of the greatest, most influential, and innovative comic book artists of all time, the late Jack Kirby, responsible for creating and co-creating some of comicdom's most well known and gold standard characters in the history of the genre - Captain America, The Hulk, The Fantastic Four, and The X-Men, to name a few.

The New York Times, who had written about Kirby 10 years after his death on February 1994, by which time he had amassed a portfolio of work almost tantamount to the works of Picasso or Michelangelo in his respective field, summed up the style of the man's art this way [...]

$5 MP3 Album Deal: Santana ‘Abraxas’

Posted: 28 Aug 2012 07:00 AM PDT

Santana Abraxas

The second album by the Latin/jazz/funk/rock hybrid ensemble Santana, entitled Abraxas, is now available on MP3 format from Amazon this month for only $5. (The CD is currently only $6.99.)

Released about a year after their starmaking and now legendary performance at the Woodstock Festival in late summer 1969, Abraxas now stands and is regarded as one of the most popular records released by the still-going guitarist Carlos Santana, who during the time employed a multi-racial band which sported his last name. Almost every track sizzles with a swinging fervor guaranteed to keep you moving while grooving at the same time. Much of this music is now familiar to stalwarts of classic rock radio like "Black Magic Woman" and "Oye Como Va," but the tracks "Se A Cabo," the beautifully haunting, quiet, and guitar tour-de-force "Samba Pa Ti," and the wonderful rocker "Hope You Are Feeling Better" hold equal weight and sonic verve. 12 tracks in all, including 3 live performances not on the original release.

Browse all 1,000 albums on sale this month for only $5 each [...]
