$5 MP3 Album Deal: Night Ranger ‘Midnight Madness’

Night Ranger Midnight Madness

As part of Amazon's MP3 deals for this month, Night Ranger's Midnight Madness for only $5. The CD version is only $5.99.

You know this 1983 album for the sappy Top 10 power ballad "Sister Christian," but I love Midnight Madness for its rockin' tunes like "(You Can Still) Rock In America," "Rumours In The Air," and "Touch Of Madness." I'm gonna tell it to you straight, I friggin' love Night Ranger and I love this album. I've gotten a lot of grief in my life for admitting this, but it's true. I got into the band when I heard "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" off their debut album (MP3; on sale on CD on sale for only $4.99), so I was pumped when I popped in my Midnight Madness cassette and heard the opening song "(You Can Still) Rock In America." Of course then I was greatly deflated when "Sister Christian" hit it so big that every kid in my junior high school liked them for this one song (hate it when that happens!). But when everyone else left Night Ranger in the dust, I stuck around. So, go on and grab this album for only $5 and rock it, rock it, rock it!

Michael Bay Talks About Why He Is Coming Back For ‘Transformers 4′

Michael Bay

At this point, I really don't think fans need Michael Bay to explain why he is doing Transformers 4. On one hand, you could accept the following quotes below and on the other, you can say he is doing it for the money. But the man is talking, and he gives us some very surprising answers as to why he is coming back.

In an interview with The Huffington Post, Bay talked about his hesitancy to return to direct Transformers 4 and how long lines at the Transformers 3D ride at Universal Studios in Los Angeles inspired him to come back for a fourth time [...]

WB Hires SNL Vet Jenny Slate To Write Draft For Looney Tunes Reboot

Looney Tunes

For a studio that once prided itself on animated characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, and Porky Pig, they've had a surprising lack of memorable full-length animated feature titles. So Warner Bros. hopes to change all of that by hiring fellow SNL alum Jenny Slate to pen a draft for an upcoming hybrid CGI/live-action film involving the aforementioned characters and more, much like the underrated Looney Tunes: Back In Action.

THR reports that David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith (yes, the one who wrote Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) will be producing the film. Grahame-Smith also wrote the screenplay for Vampire Hunter as well as the screenplay for Tim Burton's Dark Shadows. Both films weren't the box office blockbusters many hoped it would be, but a person of Grahame-Smith's caliber doesn't get to where he is without hitting a few bumps in the road, so maybe those two films were just stepping stones [...]

‘Reno 911!’s Robert Ben Garant Could Helm ‘Baywatch’ Movie

Baywatch

Taking into account that 21 Jump Street was a resounding success both critically and commercially, it's really no surprise to hear that some studios are considering putting a comedic twist on film adaptations of TV dramas.

According to Vulture, Reno 911! co-creator/star Robert Ben Garant has been tapped to direct the film adaptation of Baywatch. The film originally started out as an actioner, but as writers like Jeremy Garelick (The Break Up) and Peter Tolan (Rescue Me) rewrote the script, it turned into something different. The two have said before that they knew very little about the TV drama when they were writing the script, but Tolan has said that his take was more like Stripes. Ironically, Ivan Reitman, who directed Stripes, will be producing Baywatch [...]
