‘X-Men: First Class’ Director Matthew Vaughn Not Directing Sequel; Bryan Singer Possible Posted: 25 Oct 2012 09:07 PM PDT There was a lot of uncertainty when an X-Men prequel set back in the '60s was announced, but X-Men: First Class arrived and won over the masses, many of whom considered it to be the best X-Men movie yet. Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake, Kick-Ass), the man who directed First Class, was a big reason for the film's success, and it was reported back in January that he'd be back for the sequel, as well. Now comes word, unfortunately, that Vaughn has decided not to make the sequel, which we found out would be based on the popular storyline Days of Future Past. [...] |
Disney In Depth: Blu-ray Review: Secret Of The Wings Posted: 25 Oct 2012 06:04 PM PDT Secret of the Wings Blu-ray l DVD Directed by Peggy Holmes, Bobs Gannaway Starring Mae Whitman, Lucy Hale, Lucy Liu, Raven-Symoné, Megan Hilty, Pamela Adlon, Matt Lanter, Timothy Dalton, Anjelica Huston, Debby Ryan, Angela Bartys, Grey DeLisle Walt Disney Home Entertainment Release Date: October 23, 2012 Every once in a while, a critic must suck up his pride and cover a film that would have never registered on his radar. For me, that is what I experienced with the latest entry in the Disney Fairies series, Secret of the Wings. Though this Tinker Bell-themed movie presents nothing new to the direct-to-video blueprint, I must admit that this "flitterrific" film offers pleasant amusement. Let's fly right into this review. Videos: Modder Brings Assassin’s Creed, Ninja Turtles, Mass Effect & More To ‘Grand Theft Auto’ Posted: 25 Oct 2012 05:17 PM PDT Countless mods have been made over the years, but only a few truly stand out to those of us who don't use them. Today we share with you a few such mods worth seeing in action. YouTube user wapeddell has been sharing his mods for a while now, including his work bringing other video game characters into the world of Grand Theft Auto IV. His work is so good that it looks like these characters were developed into the game from the start, plucked from their own worlds and dropped onto the harsh streets of Liberty City. [...] |
Naomie Harris Says Idris Elba Should Be The First Black James Bond Posted: 25 Oct 2012 03:30 PM PDT Idris Elba (Prometheus, Thor) is the perfect candidate to become the next 007. He's got swagger, he's British, and he's actually quite sexy. Should he accept the role – which won't be available until after Daniel Craig completes two more Bond films – Elba would be the first non-Caucasian to play the elite MI6 spy. So how close is Elba to playing James Bond? Well according to Skyfall co-star Naomie Harris, it is pretty close. During the press rounds for Skyfall, Harris was asked about who she would like to see play as the first black James Bond. [...] |
‘A Good Die To Day Hard’ Trailer: John McClane Causes An International Mess Posted: 25 Oct 2012 01:30 PM PDT John McClane (Bruce Willis) has faced all sorts of enemies, either from the States or across the seas, but this time he takes his habit of causing trouble across the Atlantic in A Good Day To Die Hard. We saw a teaser trailer of sorts that didn't get too in depth about the plot and basically announced that another Die Hard movie was coming. Looking at that trailer, it was great to see that Die Hard was going back to old roots, sans the human vulnerability, by simply moving McClane to an overseas setting. Check out the newest trailer for A Good Day To Die Hard here below [...] |

‘The Wolverine’ Will Take Place After The Events Of ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ Posted: 25 Oct 2012 09:30 AM PDT Film adaptations have a nasty habit of changing lore in the properties they are based on. Take for instance X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Originally Logan (Hugh Jackman) only had a healing ability, which is why he is able to live for so long. However, a metal bonding procedure allowed the mutant to have an indestructible skeleton and inadvertently gave Logan the ability to produce claws. Now the film adaptation said that he was born with the claws as opposed to having gained the ability to unleash claws at will. These kinds of changes, while small, have a huge impact on how fans perceive the character – remember how mad Spider-Man fans were when Sam Raimi didn't include artificial webshooters? Now it appears that James Mangold's The Wolverine will return to Logan having these bone claws, but the film might not take place where you might think in the chronicles of the X-Men Cinematic Universe. While it's confirmed that Logan will be in Japan, the film was thought to be a prequel. Check out a new photo and details on where in the X-Men timeline The Wolverine might take place here below [...] |
