Quentin Tarantino Talks About Retirement & Casting Jamie Foxx In ‘Django Unchained’ Posted: 15 Nov 2012 07:00 PM PST Quentin Tarantino isn't one to ever softball anything. But his extensive knowledge and love for films allows him to be the way his is and say the things he says. With Django Unchained just a few more weeks away from release, the director is now talking about the casting process, particularly for the role of Django, which many prominent African American actors tested for. He is also speaking out about a possible retirement from making movies some time in the near future. Tarantino talked recently about his directing resume, and aiming at having ten films on it before retiring. Django Unchained would mean that he would be three more projects away from retirement, which means that the Kill Bill projects are a single entity even though they are split into two films. [...] |

Now comes word that the studio has brought in the team behind the recent horror movie hit Sinister to bring the movie to life. Scott Derrickson will direct, as well as write the script along with C. Robert Cargill, who's better known to some as Massawyrm from Ain't It Cool News. [...] |

‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 3 Premiere Date Announced With New Poster Posted: 15 Nov 2012 03:00 PM PST A new poster for the upcoming third season of HBO's Game of Thrones has been released, offering a date for the premiere of the new season etched in stone (or ice?). The poster is fairly plain, showing only a date with a trio of swords through one of the zeroes, but still...it's confirmation of the date we can expect our favorite fantasy series back and the first step to getting to that date. It's all images, trailers, and anticipation from here, friends. Check out the poster for season 3 of Game of Thrones below now. [...] |
‘Super Size Me’ Documentarian Morgan Spurlock To Direct One Direction Flick Posted: 15 Nov 2012 02:00 PM PST Morgan Spurlock, the man behind exposing the dangers of eating fast food for a month, attempting to find Osama Bin Laden, exploiting product placement, and finding the true meaning of the San Diego Comic-Con is taking his documentary making talents to the music industry and will focus on the hottest boy band for his latest project. One Direction, the mega-popular U.K. boy band that has been conquering music charts, will be the musical talent that Spurlock will document. Given that the Justin Bieber: Never Say Never and Katy Perry: Part of Me documentaries were a surprising success, Sony Pictures wants to get in on some of the action while One Direction is still relevant. The studio has already scheduled the film for an August 30, 2013 release, and much like the recent documentaries of these mega pop stars, the film will be released in 3D. [...] |

‘Twins’ Sequel With Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito, Eddie Murphy Grabs Pair Of Writers Posted: 15 Nov 2012 12:00 PM PST Well, folks...this is actually happening. Remember back when we found out about the "this has to be a joke, right?" sequel to the 1988 comedy Twins, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as polar opposite twin brothers, in which Eddie Murphy would star as a third brother? It sounded like a bad April Fools joke at the time, but, as it turns out, the movie, which will be titled Triplets, is very real. A pair of writers have signed on to pen the script, and things are moving forward. [...] |
Posted: 15 Nov 2012 11:00 AM PST When we reported that The Descendants star Shailene Woodley was cast for the role of Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, we also learned that Electro would be the villain and that Marc Webb was looking for an actor to play Harry Osborne. A lot has happened since the news broke, which also happened to coincide with the Blu-ray and DVD release of the film. During the press day for the Blu-ray release, it was confirmed that Academy Award winning Jamie Foxx was cast as Electro. Now we are learning that the sequel will feature the Harry Osborne character and that three young actors are vying for the role. [...] |
‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Kit Harington Set For Disaster Flick ‘Pompeii’ Posted: 15 Nov 2012 10:00 AM PST Last May we found out that Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson was going to make a disaster movie with a love story at its core, a la Titanic. But instead of on a boat, this love story is to unfold while Mt. Vesuvius erupts, raining down fire and ash and death on everything around it, including the ancient city of Pompeii, Italy. The movie, which is titled Pompeii, has found its first star. It's being reported that Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, who plays the bastard son of Lord Eddard Stark on the hit HBO series, Jon Snow, has entered into negotiations for the male lead. [...] |
Posted: 15 Nov 2012 09:30 AM PST Evil Ernie #2 Written by Jesse Snider Art by Jason Craig Covers by Ardian Syaf, Dan Brereton, Kyle Hotz, Stephen Segovia Dynamite Entertainment Release Date: November 14, 2012 Cover Price: $3.99 Evil Ernie's origin story continues with issue #2, and what a friggin' bloodbath! The goopy, fleshy parts of helpless sinners just drip off the page. Ernie goes on a rampage hunting down his father within a prison, and anyone who gets in Ernie's way is subject to his wrath of violence. Well, anyone who's a sinner; a prison complex is an all-you-can-maim buffet of sinners for Ernie to feast upon. Unfortunately, Ernie's father is a slippery sonofabitch who may avoid meeting his maker. Smiley plays a much more prominent role in this issue as Ernie's cohort. While rampaging through the horde of sinners who attempt to take Ernie down, Smiley lets him in on a useful tidbit: all of Ernie's violent awesomeness isn't free--like a battery, he can run out of juice. Hmmm, I wonder what this giant hint is foreshadowing? Ernie is a living(?) hypocrite of an anti-hero. However, he revels in his hypocrisy and gleefully tells his victims that he'll meet them in Hell. He's one of them. [...] |
No Surprise! Michael Bay Looking To Cast Hot Young Actors For ‘Transformers 4′ Posted: 15 Nov 2012 09:00 AM PST Readers probably wouldn't be the least bit shocked to hear that Michael Bay is testing hot young actors for roles in Transformers 4. Megan Fox, Rachel Taylor, Isabel Lucas, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley all fit that mold that Bay was looking for, and he is using it once again, further proving that no ugly people ever take the lead in Bay's film universe. However, unlike the Victoria Secret model or the virtual unknown he cast for previous Transformers film, Bay is looking for an actor who has actual talent or an actor who is related to someone who has some talent. THR has word that Isabelle Cornish and Nicola Peltz are testing for the female lead in the film. According to the report, the actress who gets the role will most likely play the daughter of Mark Wahlberg's character and be the love interest for the new male lead. If Cornish's name sounds familiar, it's because she is the younger sister of Abbie Cornish. Peltz is also well-known for her lead role in M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender [...] |
