‘Epic’ Trailer: It’s ‘Ferngully’ For The New Generation Posted: 20 Nov 2012 07:00 PM PST A new trailer for Epic, an animated film that follows the secret lives of forest beings protecting their sacred land from a force that seeks to destroy it, has been released. A teenage girl spending time at a relative's house gets shrunken down to their size and joins the forces of the forest dwellers to help them save the forest world and her world as well. Sure it may sound like a revamped version of Ferngully, but Epic doesn't look like anything the Blue Sky has done before. The studio also worked on the Ice Age franchise and RIO. Check out the latest trailer below. [...] |
Posted: 20 Nov 2012 05:30 PM PST The great thing about owning Star Wars (if you happen to have a few billion dollars hiding in your gigantic couch cushions, as Disney did), is that you don't have to wait around to see if one movie will do well enough to warrant a sequel and eventual franchise. It's already one of the most established franchises in history, a guaranteed cash cow. And they plan on jumping all over that fact like a frat boy would a freshly microwaved burrito...hopefully to our collective delight, and not our condemnation. We've already found out that Oscar winning Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt will write the first planned movie, Star Wars Episode VII, for its 2015 release. But now comes word that the company is already looking at two more writers to take on the next two installments, Star Wars Episode VIII (or IIX? Have we ever gotten this high with a Roman numeral movie franchise?) and Star Wars Episode IX. [...] |
One Spark Lights Up ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Motion Poster Posted: 20 Nov 2012 04:00 PM PST There is going to be a very familiar tune when you take a look at the new motion poster for the highly anticipated The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Production for the new Francis Lawrence-directed film should be nearing completion. In two days we will be a year way from the film's release, so the Lionsgate marketing team has decided to release the brand new poster now. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, and Donald Sutherland will all be joined by newcomers Jena Malone, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Lynn Cohen, Alan Ritchson, Sam Claflin and Jeffrey Wright. Sam Claflin, Douglas Booth & More Also Testing For Harry Osborn Role In ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′ Posted: 20 Nov 2012 02:30 PM PST It's become very clear that the Osborn family and corporation will be a major factor The Amazing Spider-Man 2. We previously posted that Brady Corbet (Tetro), Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures), and Dane Dehaan (Chronicle) were up for the role of Harry Osborn, son of Norman Osborn and heir to OsCorp. Now you can add Sam Claflin, Eddie Redmayne, Boyd Holbrook, and Douglas Booth to the mix as they will also be in the running for the same role. These seven actors will test for the role in the coming days. Filming is expected to begin sometime early next year. [...] |
Short Horror Film Review: Out There Posted: 20 Nov 2012 01:00 PM PST Out There Directed by Randal Plunkett Written by Randal Plunkett Starring Conor Marren, Emma Eliza Regan, Johnny Carey Produced by Kevin Fisher, Randal Plunkett Dunsany Productions Released 2012 Robert (Conor Marren) wakes up in a forest with a severe head wound. $5 MP3 Album Deal: The Doors ‘The Doors’ Posted: 20 Nov 2012 11:30 AM PST The Doors, the debut album by the 1960s legendary California quartet, who wound up becoming one of the most influential and successful American bands of all time, is now available on MP3 format from Amazon this month for only $5.00. Upon release of this record originally, on Elektra Records 45 years ago this past January, the musical game changed forever in modern rock and roll and its styles. The band's sounds were mired in darkness, early prototypes of Gothic and alternative rock and roll, blues music saturated in a cryptic, murky, opaque, shadowy sound, a positive creepiness if you will, led by the shock cock rock of lead singer Jim Morrison.
