Star Trek: Into Darkness Header Image

After months of speculation, disinformation, and a teaser trailer and first poster that left us with no clues but much spectacular imagery, Paramount Pictures has finally revealed, perhaps inadvertently, the identity of the character played by Benedict Cumberbatch in next summer's blockbuster sci-fi sequel Star Trek Into Darkness via the release of a new official still from the still.

Supposedly the character's name was revealed in a caption included with the photo. You can check out the still and caption here below [...]

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #185 is the one hundredth and eighty-fifth issue of awesomeness. In a row. That's a pretty good record, by any standards.

Writer and creator of the G.I. Joe that everyone knows and loves, Larry Hama, manages to do something that no other writer does: makes a completely believable, viable, military comic with soldiers dressed in the most RIDICULOUS outfits ever imagined. OK, so, everyone of my generation thought (and still thinks) that those fatigues are awesome, but, in reality, if any kind of soldier wore those clothes he would be shot and killed immediately. Probably by members of his own team. But, I digress. This issue continues the three main story lines and even introduces a couple more into the mix. PLUS-ZARTAN!!!!!! And, there's a couple other surprise appearances that I won't spoil for you. But, this is another solid issue of excitement and adventure that we've gotten since 1983 from this writer, and he shows no signs of slowing down. Thank God [...]

Disney Working On Sequel To Tim Burton’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’

Johnny Depp as the Madd Hatter in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

In 2010, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland grossed over a billion dollars worldwide. The film sparked a trend for studios to reimagine or reboot classic fairy tale stories, most of which we met with mixed results. But the most surprising thing about the new Alice in Wonderland was that there appeared to be no interest in a sequel for a film that turned out to be one of the highest grossing films of 2010.

Now it appears that Disney wants to revisit Wonderland once more and they have gotten Linda Woolverton, the film's first writer, to pen the script. Though Burton's film shared the same title, the film was kind of a sequel to the animated film [...]

Exclusive: First Look At Four Upcoming Covers From Dark Horse Comics

Dark Horse Comics has provided Geeks of Doom with an exclusive first look at a handful of comics that they have set for March and one collection set for May, and let me tell you, they're all awesome.

First up from these comics is the heavily praised Mind MGMT #9 from writer/artist Matt Kindt whose watercolored cover gets across a nice moment in a violent world, while also showing a hint of musical influence. I'm interested. I haven't been picking up this comic in single issues, but based on what I'm hearing about this comic, it's one I'm dying to read. Another comic coming in March is The Black Beetle: No Way Out #3 (of 4) by Francesco Francavilla, who is a creator whose artwork is just simply amazing and unique in the modern comics world. If you read this comic's run in Dark Horse Presents, you know what to expect, which should also tell you that you don't want to miss it. Also available is the new mini-series The Answer! #3 (of 4) by Mike Norton and Dennis Hopeless with cover art from Mark Englert. I'm not too familiar with the premise of The Answer!, but if it's what it seems, I want my hands all over this comic. It appears to be a fresh and interesting take on detective based superhero comics with death traps, and if you know me, you know I love death traps. The creators are rad and the premise is strong, so this is a comic to keep your eyes on. And then, in May comes the 13th Archive edition of Eerie, a 264-page collection that features work from Wally Wood, Bernie Wrightson, Budd Lewis, Richard Corben and many, many more. If you haven't been picking up these archives of the classic horror anthology, it's never too late, so get on that.

Anyway, now that all the talk is out of the way, let's take a look at all these great covers after the jump! [...]
