Comic Review: Hopeless, Maine: Personal Demons Posted: 20 Dec 2012 07:00 PM PST Hopeless, Maine: Personal Demons Created by Tom and Nimue Brown Written by Tom and Nimue Brown Illustrated by Tom Brown Letters by Deron Bennett Archaia Entertainment Release Date: November 27, 2012 Cover Price: $19.95 Created and written by Tom and Nimue Brown, Hopeless, Maine: Personal Demons is the story of a little girl named Salamandra who lives on a hidden island just off the coast of Maine. The denizens of Hopeless haven't seen the sun in forever. The parents of this gloomy island are constantly disappearing giving rise to a booming orphan population. And on top of all that, demons inhabit the entire island. Yes, actual physical demons with pointy teeth and huge appetites flit about the town and loom ever-present through the entire story. Salamandra is a little girl who is found living alone in a sizable Victorian house. This is how a young woman by the name of Nightshade finds Salamandra. "My mother wants to drink me," is one of many odd things the little girl says throughout Hopeless, Maine. Another odd bit about Salamandra is that she commands great magic. This is learned after a rather unfortunate occurrence with the good samaritan Miss Nightshade's chair. The decision is made then and there that Salamandra cannot stay there so she is whisked off to the town's orphanage where our story slowly, slowly begins moving forward. [...] |
‘This Is The End’ Trailer: Have You Ever Met A Mayan Before? Posted: 20 Dec 2012 06:00 PM PST In just a matter of hours, depending on what part of the world you live on of course, the world will come to an end. So Seth Rogen found it appropriate to release first trailer/clip for his new end of the world comedy This is the End, formally known as Jay and Seth Versus the Apocalypse. Rogen along with fellow co-star James Franco introduce the footage from the film in true vulgar fashion. Let's just say it involves weed, lewd acts, and sex toys. Of course there is much more to see. Continue below to see the first trailer or clip for This is the End. [...] |
‘Turbo’ Trailer: Ryan Reynolds Is Going The Distance, He’s Going For Speed Posted: 20 Dec 2012 05:00 PM PST A snail that dreams of being as fast as a NASCAR race car is perhaps the most clique thing ever. Obviously it can work as some sort of inspiration/motivational story for a younger audience, and thankfully DreamWorks Animation saw the potential in that and created Turbo. The film centers on a snail (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) who dreams of racing in the big leagues. And the trailer leads you to believe he can do it up until the end that is. Of course this being a teaser, there isn't a whole lot to get into. Check out the first trailer and synopsis for Turbo below. [...] |

The beer will launch sometime in March to match up with around the time season 3 of the show begins, which is March 31st. If you can't wait that long, this first picture of what that initial beer will look like is not going to help you taste it any sooner. But still, it's a mighty fine looking bottle o' brew! Continue below now to see what a bottle of Game of Thrones beer looks like. [...] |
Damon Lindelof Won’t Be Writing Script For ‘Prometheus 2′ Posted: 20 Dec 2012 11:30 AM PST If you were severely disappointed by how Prometheus turned out, chances are you pointed the blame at Damon Lindelof. The former Lost executive producer had more than just his hand in Jon Spaihts's script, he drastically changed everything about it. In the end, Prometheus was not what it had turned out to be and soon it became the most polarizing film of the summer. Perhaps it could have been better handled had director Ridley Scott and the producers realized the quality of product they were given. Regardless of who is to blame, Lindelof has confirmed that he won't be returning to write a script for a sequel, also explaining why he made this decision. Check it out below. [...] |
‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 3 Episodes To Be A Little Longer Posted: 20 Dec 2012 10:00 AM PST The worst thing about HBO's Game of Thrones---and it may be the only negative about the show---is that as we make our way through a season, we begin to dread that 10th episode, knowing full well that that's where it ends for the year, instead of the usual 12th episode. Season 3 of the series will be doubly painful, as it will be based on author George R.R. Martin's biggest book in the "Song of Ice and Fire" series, A Storm of Swords. That means instead of the season being focused on one entire book, this one will only be covering the first half of the book, leaving us to wait another year just to finish this book's stories.
