In many ways, Ghostbusters #15 is the culmination of fifteen consecutive issues of awesomeness. I mean it, readers, comics don't get much more fun than this.

While I can't really say much about the plot of this issue without giving away major spoilers, let's just say that Erik Burnham turns in a classic Ghostbusters tale. I really mean it, it's like you're reading what would be Ghostbusters 3. Of course, this version would be about 6 hours long. This issue has everything and everyone, including characters not seen in a LONG time. It's all payoff in this issue. But... of course, there's some things left dangling that can propel the book even further into greatness in future issues. This is one hell of a great issue! [...]

Star Trek: Into Darkness Header Image

A new poster for J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Trek sequel, titled Star Trek: Into Darkness, has been released by Paramount Pictures.

You might be expecting to see some familiar faces plastered all over such a poster, like returning stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, and so on. But this is not the case. Not at all.

Instead, the poster features only one person: newcomer Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the film's still unidentified villain, and the destruction his character will be causing. [...]

It's science fiction! It's crime fiction! It's a…sci-cri! The Last Policeman is the latest thrilling novel by New York Times best-selling author Ben H. Winters and you can watch the trailer for the book here below.

Comic Review: ‘Cancertown’ Volume 1 & 2

Cancertown Vol. 1 & 2
Written by Cy Dethan
Art by Stephen Downey
Colors by Melanie Cook
AAM/Markosias
Release Date: November, 2012
Cover Price: $19.99

The trouble with a lot of the comics I review is that they just try too damn hard. From hack dialogue to characters that are more caricatures than actual heroes or villains, some comics just scream inauthenticity. It's not that there is no place for over the top dialogue or characters *cough The Big Two cough* it's just that for most indie comics, subtle is better. Cancertown by Cy Dethan is anything but subtle. Part Silent Hill part 100 Bullets, this is a comic that samples from every classic genre and, for the most part, comes out on top.

Cancertown starts in a frenzy and pretty much keeps that pace up through its entirety. Even now, if you were to ask me to sum up this book in a sentence I'd have a hell of a time trying to figure it out. But, since it's my job to sum things up in sentences, here goes. Cancertown follows Vince Morley as he traverses the darkest depth of madness, his own sickness, and the dark-world known as Cancertown [...]

Seth MacFarlane On The Status Of The ‘Family Guy’ Movie & Previous Oscar Hosts

Seth MacFarlane Image

It took a while before The Simpsons could make the leap from the small screen to the big screen. The same could be said for Seth MacFarlane's successful animated hit Family Guy. But that isn't exactly the first thing on the comedian's mind right now. After all, he is hosting the Oscars next year, Universal has greenlit the sequel for Ted, and there are still many seasons of Family Guy to get through before he can figure out a story. Speaking to a group of UCLA students at The Oscar Experience College Search – a program that recruits students interested in film careers by letting them hand out the Oscars at the ceremony – MacFarlane talked about the Family Guy movie and shared his thoughts on previous Oscar hosts.

When you have a successful directorial debut like MacFarlane did with Ted, chances are the number of projects offered will increase. It also gives you the creditability you need to start off with or continue any project of your choosing. Universal wants to continue on with Ted – and I am sure MacFarlane does too – and Fox definitely wants a Family Guy movie. But it took almost 20 seasons before a Simpsons movie could get made, so when does a Family Guy movie hit the big screen? Here's what MacFarlane told Entertainment Weekly [...]

Comic Review: Think Tank, Volume 1

Think Tank, Volume 1

Think Tank, Volume 1
Written by Matt Hawkins
Art by Rahsan Ekedal
Covers by Rahsan Ekedal & Brian Reber
Top Cow Productions, Inc.
Release Date: December 5, 2012
Cover Price: $14.99

I have no qualms about deeming Think Tank one of the best new comic series this year. Think Tank, Volume 1 collects the first four issues and is the perfect spot to catch up on this smartly-written, action-packed series.

Dr. David Loren is a true prodigy-genius type who was recruited to work in a DARPA think tank when he was a naïve 14-year-old senior in high school. At 19, he was granted the elite rank of National Security Asset — essentially he's so valuable to the United States government that he can't live a free life. He graduated with a PhD from Cal Tech and followed up on his agreement to join DARPA. There he dabbled with inventions like mind-reading devices, invisibility suits, and portable EMP bombs.

David is an unabashed slacker, yet even with just a small portion of his attention, he makes almost everyone else look foolishly mortal by comparison. After producing numerous inventions such as the predator drone algorithm and an electronic crowd-control gun that would never jam, he suddenly developed a conscience: he realized that he doesn't want the blood of innocent people on his hands. David tried to leave his job, only the big wigs at DARPA didn't much care for his change of heart [...]

Happy Birthday, Ozzy Osbourne!

Ozzy Osbourne

Happy Birthday today to the madman who showed the world his diary, who put the globe in a blizzard, who made an absolute art of being one of the most influential and loved hard rock/heavy metal frontman in the entire elongated history of the music scene and business, John "Ozzy" Osbourne.

The personal life and antics of Osbourne and his unabashed outrageousness could fill volumes upon volumes of tomes. Osbourne is like a cat with nine lives who has already extinguished eight and a half, his onstage and off-stage antics, wild loose unrestrained abandon, a glorious wonderful mess of a life and a human being are the stuff of legend, urban and otherwise. There are fans of the man who have never even heard his music, or have only heard the most minute of musical flurries, and yet, those people are as passionate about the day to day, era to era styles and manifestations of Ozzy, as if it's witnessing a one-man freak show, rubber-necking at a car wreck, looking and listening where angels fear to tread [...]
