According to Radar, Tori Spelling has now also revealed she lied about how she lost weight after giving birth to her fourth child Finn Davey back in August 2012. The former Beverly Hills 90210 star says she couldn’t exercise for several months after the birth of Finn after which she underwent emergency surgery when the stitches from her caesarian section burst open.

Tori claims in her tome Spelling It Like It Is that she shed the excess pounds through dieting rather than swimming as she once claimed.
‘For several months, I couldn’t really exercise. There were a couple reasons. First, there was some risk that my scar would open up again. I was terrified of that. Second, I really don’t exercise much, period. So I took my weight the old-fashioned way. I like to call it the Just Keep Your F***ing Mouth Shut and Eat Air diet. It’s all the rage.’

However, when Tori took part in a bikini shoot with Us Weekly magazine, she told them she lost weight through swimming. ‘My publicist had given me clear instructions about what to say about my weight loss,’ she explains. Women didn't want to know that I had lost weight through dieting, not exercising… So I said that I swam [even though] I can't do much more than a doggy paddle.’

However at the time of the shoot back in April she told the magazine: ‘My doctor suggested I try swimming. It's good for the whole body and low-impact since you're weightless. So I started doing that in our pool in January. I don't count laps. I'll swim until I'm sore or play Marco Polo with the kids instead. I also started going on the elliptical and doing modified MMA. Besides my walks, I exercise three times a week for about an hour each time.’

In the book, the svelte star says she actually shed the pounds through ‘nibbling rice cakes’ and ‘eating soup and dinners that looked like they belonged in some health magazine. ‘With my sedentary lifestyle, it was the only way and it worked,’ she says. ‘My clothes were starting to fit again.’

"Well, I think I like to be an inspiration. I think when you set out to be an artist, first and foremost – a musician, a rock 'n' roller – you don't come with this kind of, like, hey, I also want to be a role model that, obviously, will let you down because I'm a human being. And a lot of people see me as a role model but I'd like to kind of turn that around and say I appreciate that but I'd like to be seen as an inspiration. Because a role model, I think, will fail you. I mean, I couldn't tell kids when it's time for them to try things or do things. I mean, that's not my role. But, you know, it's funny. I do see myself becoming this, whatever, inspiration out of default right now, 'cause it's such a strange world. Like females in pop – everybody's getting naked. I mean, I've been naked before but I don't feel like I have to always get naked to be noticed. But it's interesting to see…

"I'm not talking about anyone in particular. I'm talking about all of them. I mean, it's like everybody's so naked. It's like put it away. We know you've got it. I got it too. I've taken it off for – I've taken it out here and there. And I'm not necessarily judging. I'm just saying sometimes it's nice to play that card but also it's nice to play other cards. And I know I have that sexy card in my deck but I don't always have to use that card. And especially like with this new song called "Unconditionally" that's on the record."
