Karate Kid Kicked the A-Team in Weekend Box office Posted: 14 Jun 2010 01:53 AM PDT DreamWorks Animation's "Shrek Forever After" finally was bumped to the third spot by two remake movies after maintaining the top spot in three consecutive weekends. Jaden Smith's "The Karate Kid" delivered some Kung fu moves beating the macho cast of "The A-Team". The combination of Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan generated $56 million at the box office which exceeded the studio's expectations ($40 million dollar budget). The A-Team led by Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Rampage Jackson, Sharlto Copley and Jessica Biel delivered $26,000,000. [June 11-13, 2010 - US] 1. The Karate Kid (2010) - $56 million *$56,000,000 2. Jimmy Dean Dies at 81; Country music Legend and Sausage entrepreneur Posted: 14 Jun 2010 01:01 AM PDT Country music legend Jimmy Dean, who is also known for his 'sausage' brand has passed away in Virginia at the age of 81. Dean's music fame came from 1961 song 'Big Bad John' which reached #1 on the Billboard pop chart. Another recognition was gave to the song 'PT-109′ which honored former President John F. Kennedy's bravery in World World II. He also his career into acting in 1971 James Bond film "Diamonds Are Forever" television shows like Daniel Boone and Fantasy Island. He also has a variety television program called "The Jimmy Dean Show". Dean's venture to business made him more popular with "Jimmy Dean Sausage", a company he started with his brother Don in 1969. The company was purchased by Consolidated Foods, later renamed Sara Lee Corporation. Last February, Dean was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. |

Joe Jackson Blames Wife Katherine for Michael's Death Posted: 13 Jun 2010 10:35 PM PDT Michael Jackson's estranged father Joe Jackson drops a bomb against his wife Katherine Jackson as he blames her for their son's death. In an interview with UK's News of the World, Joe claims that he insisted to his wife Katherine that something was wrong with Michael and he begged to put Michael into rehab for "prescription drugs addiction." But Joe claims that Katherine never listened. He told Katherine, 'If you had listened to me Michael would be living now!' Joe also added that his wife kept a distance and doesn't to meddle with Michael's affairs for fear of invading his privacy. Joe Jackson, Michael's other siblings was cut out on Michael's last will. Bam Margera was assaulted by a woman with baseball bat; Incident PHOTOS Posted: 13 Jun 2010 08:50 PM PDT "Jackass" star Bam Margera has been hospitalized after an unidentified woman which later on named 59-year-old Elizabeth Ray allegedly attacked and hit him in the head with a baseball bat outside his bar in West Chester, Pennsylvania. (June 12) Bam was rushed to a nearby hospital and the woman was arrested. She was charged with assault. Bam is known for punishing himself with his and Johnny Knoxville's playful pranks but this time he hit the edge. Bam was reportedly released from the intensive care unit late Saturday afternoon. Boston Celtics Beat Lakers in Game no.5; One Win Away From NBA Championship Posted: 13 Jun 2010 08:50 PM PDT The Boston Celtics fired up and shows championship caliber as they beat the Los Angeles Lakers 92-86 on Sunday night and take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. Paul Pierce gave a "you can't guard me" performance scoring 27 points plus the Celtics physical defense slams Kobe Bryant's 38 points. Kevin Garnett delivered all-around performance with 18 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and five steals. Rajon Rondo contributed 18, including a huge layup in the final 35 seconds. The Lakers went close in the last 1:29 of the last quarter with Rey Allen fouling Bryant in the three point line. Bryant made the three free throws and cut the lead of the Celtics 87-82. The Cetics missed another play putting Artest in the free throw with two shots but sadly, he missed both crucial shots. The Celtics hold it ground to protect their lead until the last buzzer. The Boston Celtics is now one win away to grab its 18th NBA Championship title. Game 6 will be in in Los Angeles homecourt. |
