Want To Own Your Own Video Game Store? $30,000 Is All It Takes

Posted: 18 Aug 2010 09:21 PM PDT

Quite the interesting new item is up for bidding on eBay, and the winner will find themselves the proud new owner of an entire video game store!

The store, located in Grand Junction, Colorado, is currently still active and the owners have decided to part ways with it. If you win the auction, you can either continue running the store from Colorado, OR you can have the entire inventory shipped to your location, were you can add it to your own inventory or start your own new game store. Shipping seems fair; if you pay the asking price or more the first 750 miles are free and $1 each additional mile.

Included in the inventory is games from all platforms, including Nintendo, SEGA, Super NES, PlayStation, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii and many others. There's also game systems, accessories, displays and signs and shelving and every bit of what comes with a game store. And the most intriguing part of all of this? There's a Buy it Now option for $30,000, which, if you have it, isn't bad at all for what you get. According to the seller there's $60,000 worth of inventory included. [...]

UPDATED! ‘Mad Men’ Star January Jones Replaces Alice Eve As Emma Frost In ‘X-Men: First Class’

Posted: 18 Aug 2010 05:09 PM PDT

For a long while, She's Out of My League star Alice Eve was expected to play Emma Frost in the movie adaptation of comic book series X-Men: First Class. As it turns out, that deal was never sealed with ink and now comes word that a new actress will be taking on the role.

Deadline reports that Mad Men beauty January Jones will instead be taking on the part of the White Queen in director Matthew Vaughn's movie. The two-time Golden Globe nominated actress has also appeared in movies like American Wedding, We Are Marshall, and Pirate Radio.

Some other smaller castings for the movie have also been revealed as well. The most notable of these is Zoe Kravitz, who is set to play a younger Angel. This is odd because Angel has always been a male character, played in X-Men: The Last Stand by Ben Foster.

Rounding out the smaller casting, Bill Milner has been brought on to play an even younger version of the young Magneto that Michael Fassbender will play for the majority of the film; and Morgan Lilly will play a young version of Raven. [...]

Ramona Flowers and 5 Other Manic Pixie Dream Girls Who Aren’t

When I first picked up Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim series, I fell for it, hard. Here, finally, was a quirky, beautiful love interest who wasn't just another Manic Pixie Dream Girl -- a three-dimensional girl with motivations and an inner life of her own. (It doesn't sound like that should be too much to ask, but the sad case is that it often is.) I found O'Malley's take on the archetype to be just about perfect.

Then Edgar Wright's film adaptation came out, and it was hilarious, and inventive, and energetic, and sweet, and... and yet another story about a Hapless Hero and a Manic Pixie Dream Girl. Although the film remained mostly faithful to the main plot of the source material, it had to cut copious amounts of backstory to fit into the running time. Perhaps no one suffered more than Ramona Flowers, who went from a fascinating, complex woman to a pretty trophy to be won.

What was most disappointing about it is that the downgrade felt unnecessary. Manic Pixie Dream Girls abound, but there's always an opportunity for them to be more than that. Below, in honor of O'Malley's original Ramona Flowers, are five other Manic Pixie Dream Girls who aren't [...]
